Hooking on down to flat kinks.

How do I avoid hooking the rail on a down to flat kink? Do I have to have my skis tilted upwards, or do I have to jump slightly b4 hitting the kink? It looks so effortly when others do it, but I hook the kink almost every time

Maybe file down your edges? It could be that they are to sharp and that's why they catch

Sounds like your edges are too sharp. Also when you are sliding remember to absorb the kink with your legs.

Your front ski should be tilted up a little bit, like as if you were hitting a flat rail. Also absorb the kink, embrace it

It might help to get like a 1º base bevel. I haven't needed it, but have heard it really helps for rails. Mainly just keep your downhill ski at an angle and absorb the kinks.

Having too narrow of a stance will also cause you to get bucked by the kink.

gotta bend the knees to absorb the kink like Swandog7 stated. cant just lock on and be stiff. loosen up a little and be able to pull your legs up when going into the kink.

Don't listen to any of these people. Lock your knees out, keep your feet together, like as close as possible, and just lean back to absorb the kinks
