Skiing in Illinois

Hy NS,
I am an Italian gut who will spend his next school year in a little city near springfield, Illinois; there is someone who knows if there are some places to ski near that area ?

You could buy an epic pass and go to Wilmot in Wisconsin. It's not the best skiing in the US by any means, but it seems like your best bet if you're going to be in Illinois.

Michigan is same drive as Wisconsin and we get more snow and warmer temps thanks to lake effect.

It takes dedication. If somebody truly loves skiing, they will make the drive. Granite Peak and Bohemia are the best in the Midwest and there are often people from St. Louis and Indianapolis skiing up here.

OP - welcome to the US. Definitely get up to Chicago on the weekends... it is a super fun city.

As far as skiing in Illinois goes, you're not going to find anything good. My recommendation is to save up your money and take a week in Colorado, Utah, or Tahoe. You're in the US and should see the best we have to offer.

You could drive to Summit County, CO in 14 hours.... that is your best bet my friend.

There are a lot on the border of wisco and Illinois area, ik raging buffalo is 45 min south of the border but that is a toe rope park, and yea that guy said chestnut but I have never been there... heard its dope by some friends tho

Driving east, Paoli Peaks in Indiana may not be as far, but driving the extra hour to Perfect North would be worth it

What is the name of the little city I live in Lincoln which is a little town near Springfield. There are a few depending on where you live you can go north to snowstar and a few places in Iowa and Wisconsin or go south to Hidden Valley in Missouri

I did it every fucking weekend this winter it was a 2 hour drive minimum

There's a ski area in Fenton MO that is decent but it's pitiful compared to actual mountains. Here in the Midwest we take whatever we can get though
