KtGoPet insurance!
Fred_BearIf you donate money to a pet instead of a cause for fellow humans youre a piece of shit. Theyre just pets, another one can easily be bought
McNocheYou need help. Thank goodness you don't use your real name around this place. You would make your mom look really bad
Fred_BearPeople shouldnt get pets if they cant afford them

powderdrunkieyou're a knob
MitchTOn this one, I agree with Fred_Bear. Especially when it's a dog, which needs tons of attention and training, as well as money. With a cat it's mostly just the financial part as they are often fine on their own.
Even then, lots of people forget about the huge ongoing costs of having a pet and it sucks to see them go back/into to the pound.

powderdrunkieshit happens though man. I got my dog when I was 20 and I have never run into any problems with vet bills or checkups, thank god. But you never know. My dog is the absolute best and he is my homie until the end. If there is ever a time where he needs surgery or something expensive like that I'm going to pay the money to keep him healthy. Asking for help is never a bad thing. In fact, it's good for the soul. Some people abuse this though, and I feel like that's where this topic can get sour.
CaseyYeah, I feel like if other people also love your dog it would be pretty normal for them to want to help. But, I've also seen people do it that weren't even hard up for money.

californiagrownBegging for money is not good for the soul. Get a loan if you legit cannot afford it. Go into debt if it's that important to you. Don't guilt trip people into paying your bills for you.
powderdrunkienobody said anything about begging, or guilt tripping. Asking for help when you truly need can be important to stay humble. Everyone needs a hand sometimes.
but never cry shitwolf
CaseyI did that once, never again. I had a cat that got a bladder infection and they denied my claim because like two years prior the cat had a previous infection that I got antibiotics and cleared up, but after my antibiotics were up I didnt return to the vet and run a second 200 dollar test to prove that it was gone. So they denied based on a, "pre-existing condition." I don't know if that's still legal, probly it wasn't legal at the time. And the worst part about pet insurance is that you are on the hook for the bill and have to fight the insurance company after the fact for reimbursement. Its like literally the worst scam you could possibly sign up for.
californiagrownHow many truly need help to save their dog? Or are they just asking for help because they can't make the tough decision to downgrade their standard of living to pay those bills? Also, crowd funding is a gift, not a loan. I would have no issues with someone asking for a loan.
powderdrunkieAs I said in my previous statement: It's easy to tell who sucks.
You can't lump everyone into the same category. Just don't support people who you feel don't need support. It's simple really.
but, saying "you shouldn't have got a dog if you couldn't afford the vet bill after it caught a stray bullet." is fucked
californiagrownYou absolutely can get a dog if you cannot afford the vet bill if an accident happens. But you'll have to make some hard choices if an accident does happen. You shouldn't put that financial or emotional burden on others. That's selfish.
Ask for a loan. Don't beg for a gift.
powderdrunkiewhat goes around, comes around, even when asking for money from friends and/or family. You're caught up on this "begging" thing which makes it sound worse than it is.
in my opinion
Lé.SkiingSome people are just hit at the worst possible times. You know what I would like to make for one of these "go fund me" pages is one that is setup so people can pay back the people who donated when they have the money to pay them back. So it's not like you're just asking for money you're asking for a 0% interest loan from random people.
I wonder if the people who dislike/hate go fund me / kickstarter / indiegogo websites would have a problem with that kind of crowd sourcing website. I mean sure lots of people aren't going to use it as much as the other ones, but maybe it would have a better percentage of results for people willing to donate if they knew they are more likely to get their money back.
theabortionatorLOL Are you kidding? That idea will never take off.
Even if it did it would be like the people that offer $1 for a cig but if you agreed they don't even have $1.
Gofundme is for fucking douchers who have no concept of money or life. If you mention anything negative about them you'll get banned because gofundme wants their percentage.
The amount of "I'm trying to go on a trip to peru but I'm poor so you should pay for me. Also I'm going to come back cultured as fuck and make the world a better place"
Sure some people use the site decently but more and more entitled fucks everyday.
I might buy a house and start a gofundme to pay the mortgage
Lé.SkiingYah, why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free. lol.. Some people piss me off on there too.. I have seen some people saying they want to go backpacking in Europe and then go look at their FB and they just bought a new car or some bullshit.
I heard of one story where someone pretended to have cancer and even made fake updates. I think they are actually getting charged now. Rightfully so, if you're going to fake having cancer to collect money from other people you deserve every bad thing that has ever and will ever happen to you.
theabortionatorYeah it's fucked. I didn't travel internationally for a while because I couldn't afford it.
There was one called "help bring us home" or something about these people who quit their jobs in amsterdam to backpack in india and needed help to get home. they wanted like $4k. I found them flight back from india for 350/400 a piece without even trying and told them to fuck off.
Also the amount of bad business models. Like the fucks on here that tried selling their shitty pocket ts, or shades and watches from alibaba.
People don't want to work for anything. They don't want any risk. They want the world to buy them a business and to start at the top. It's fucked and I hate them all.
CaseyI think you kind if missed the point of this thread. Your lumping them in with the woman that spent her life savings on Powerball tickets, didnt win and tried to start a gofundme to get it all back. That really happened.
The couple of people that I've seen that made me want to make this thread aren't especially hard up for cash, are decent people otherwise, obviously aren't trying to run a scam on all their facebook friends, and I guess view it as a good cause to help them out.
By your logic its only okay if you're poor, but its not okay to be poor... Idk

californiagrownIf they aren't hard HP for cash why are they begging for mine, instead of spending their own.
Help is a loan. Begging is gofundme.
theabortionatorFor sure.
People just feel entitled to it. I mean, why work for money when you can just have other people pay for your vacations.
If you wouldn't ask your friends for what you're asking you're asking for on gofundme, it's probably fucked.
Would you go up to your friends and say "Hey guys I know you're all working really hard trying to save money, but I haven't felt like working much, but was wondering if you would buy me a 3,000 vacation to Europe?"
