Just had some ON3P Jefferys mounted with Pivot 12's. The boots clip in fine and they work, but they are adjusted wayy different. The bindings don't look like they are mounted off or anything.Could this be a construction error in the bindings? Like one of the heel pieces is more spaced out than the other?
I'm stressing a bit because the heel-piece on the right looks like it's cranked as far forward as it will go. I can't re-mount the skis again if I buy a boot with a smaller BSL because they have been mounted three times already. Can somebody explain what is happening here?

Yup you said it all pretty much. If you change boot sizes you're going to have to have to mount them off of where you originally did (-1 or +1 etc)
It looks like you're right binding was adjusted differently? Your left one looks fine, they should be about equal, but both bindings should be a the same spot and yours aren't which is weird. It could have been the person who mounted them but I'm not exactly sure

That's rough. Can't mount them a 4th time so they will be $250 shot skis. Unless I can find a 30.5 Salomon boot.
If they work fine. Don't worry about it. That's the way fks are adjusted and the one on the right looked pretty maxed out. I bet what happened is the dude mounting them either got careless, or there was a conflict with previous holes. judging by your op, it seems he was just careless. So the one binding is just mounted slightly higher, so in order to compensate, he had to adjust the arms. Generally speaking fks perform their best when the arms are in the sweet spot (the middle ring), but your bindings should be just fine :)
SconnieThe only shop by me limits skis to three. I might be able to find someone that can do it though. Or I'll teach myself but that's risky.
I'd definitely recommend learning. A shop fucked my skis up once and I've done every pair except some nicer brand new skis by hand and only had 1 issue or pair pullout out of 7 mounts (and thats cause I had only 2 of the 3 screws really in)

I would bet on this. if you have 3 mounts the tech may have had to adjust the sole length on the jig, in the knowledge that the binding adjustment would compensate, to avoid previous holes and as such you've ended up on a different place on the forward pressure or he fucked up and adjusted the jig and had to compensate.
