californiagrownSpecifically, what was your world war II comment in reference to?
I quoted "let them do what they want, if it doesn't hurt you then why should you care" or whatver he said and I referenced WWII where we applied the same mindset, which wasn't really the correct way of going about things since it lead to lots and lots of dead people.
mainly, my point was:
Yea I agree you should be able to do whatever you want to your body, nobody should tell you otherwise. However that doesn't exclude you from judgement from others. Basically the answer to "why should you care?" Is because I'm a freaking human being and I, like others, will judge people. I can't help that, and for good reason. Certain social pressures arguably help shape people into better human beings. Think, if we stopped caring about how unnatractive fat people are and stopped shaming, they'd continue to get fat, and that isn't really a good thing. This can almost be compared to the peer pressure your friends put you through to try new tricks skiing. For example, Without that pressure, you wouldn't have sent the backie. Because someone else cared, they told you to throw a backflip, and got your friends to tell you as well. If we stop caring, people stop benefitting from eachother
Idk I'm not the best at conveying points so if you are still confused I'm sorry. Also yea just saying ww2 was pretty ambiguous my b
