DirtYStylEDon't take this the wrong way. I was hoping to get some responses on this topic from the modern era. Please refer to roman society for how and why a bastard is socially unacceptable.
DirtYStylEWhat the fuck are you talking about? Our society is derived from the Romans. Society is a social construct that is always changing based on people opinions. I have mine. You have yours. Who is right and wrong? Nobody. You really need to look up the definition of logic kid.
Are you trying to say that the Roman way of life sets the standards for ours? While we have been influenced by Roman culture, we have also been influenced by Germanic culture, by Middle Eastern culture, etc. No culture exists in a vacuum- each culture is shaped by those which came before it and those which existed around it. To say that our culture is derived from the Romans is only partly true and in no way morally validates what the Romans did. Simply because the Romans did something, it doesn't necessarily mean that we should.
Also- opinions can be false and logic is the means by which we prove opinions to be false or true. Proof: if all opinions are true, then my opinion that there are false opinions is necessarily true. Therefore, false opinions exist. Additionally, if one of you is saying X and the other is saying not-X, both arguments cannot be true at the same time (but you can both be false). This is the Law of Non-Contradiction and basically sets the stage for the possibility of knowledge itself. Without it, knowledge (of anything) would not be possible.
So, actually, between the two of you- one of you is right, one of you is wrong OR you are both wrong.
