Stuff to do in Cali

Hey NS I'm going out to the Bay Area of California to help my sister move in mid May and I'm gonna be out there for a bit. I've done a lot of exploring of San Francisco in the past and I love it, but I was curious if anyone from there could give me some ideas of things to do. I love to skate so I'm bringing my deck so any good skatepark suggestions would be dope. Also I love to hike and explore nature so I plan to try to go to Yosemite and the redwood forest. Any of you guys done that in the past and have any suggestion? Also any idea if Tahoe will still have skiing?

Try to get a Permit to Hike Half Dome. It's sick. You'll have to get it the day before though and be there early to line up.

Are you aware Tahoe and yosemitie are 4 hours away?

I'd suggest big sur or up to the coast to the lost coast area. If you want stuff within an hour PT Reyes seashore or big basin park.

Skate slots are all over the city. Idk, I moved out of SF because it frankly sucks for the outdoors stuff I like doing- skiing, MTB, backpacking, fly-fishing etc.

What area of the city is your sister moving to?

Yosemite is pretty far from SF. If you're looking for hikes in/around SF... you can hike to the Lands End labyrinth which has a pretty cool view of the GG bridge and it's right on the water, you can hike through Tilden park in Grizzly Peak ( aka Fish Ranch) to a super dope look out of the whole Bay Area, you can hike/bike up Mt. Diablo in the East Bay or hang out in the open space. There's a lot of nature-y stuff more towards Berkeley. If you go to Muir Woods you should also drive through to Stinson Beach. There's a pretty cool little surf town around there.

Also, Squaw might be open in May. i'm not totally sure though!

I live in the East Bay!

Yosemite is pretty far, but there's a lot of good outdoorsy stuff within 30 minutes of the Bay: Mt. Tamalpais, Muir Woods, Tilden Regional Park, Mt. Diablo State Park, and the fire trails of the Oakland hills can keep you really busy. There's also tons of beach potential: Stinson Beach, Pt. Reyes, and Kirby Cove are all cool spots and are pretty close.

If you're willing to drive a little farther, Big Sur is just south of Monterey and has tons of hiking and some pretty cool beaches. Obviously Tahoe for snow if it's still around.

As was mentioned, there's tons to drink if you're 21, and the Oakland/SF scene can be pretty fun.

Word grizley peak and the labyrinth seem awesome to look out over the bay thanks for the ideas!

If your trying to skate, be super hip and go to Soma/Emeryville/Fremont park. All very fun and well built. As for hiking go out to Marin Headlands or something. Yes, tahoe is 4 + hours from SF (depending on traffic too) but Squaw Valley is open till may 30th. But tix are like 90 or 110 i think.
