Replying to Snowbird Expanding in 2 Years

Snowbird just got approval to expand into Mary Ellen Gulch, at least two lifts, a zip-line, and possibly a gondola will be added to access roughly 500 acres of new terrain. Construction won't begin for another 2 years.

It seems there is a bunch of opposition from people thinking this expansion will "destroy" American Fork Canyon. Issues like water quality, land access, and "shady deals" are also of concern.

I, for one, am all for the expansion, I would love some new killer terrain. I'm also an avid hiker/camper, and I don't see this expansion impacting those summer-time activities from the way things are now. Thoughts?
