Open all summer, hours should be posted. Go in the morning or at night if possilbe, it's hot as DICK in the afternoon and the surface gets very sticky. The misting system/water is what will give you speed and when it's 95 and sunny, it dries up fast and you get sticky spots. It's best to go when its cooler(aka morning or night).
Hours and ticket information here:
https://www.liberty.edu/snowflex/tickets-hours/ They may change their hours over summer but for the most part they are open.
Cover your elbows and knees. Turf hurts A LOT. The material/snowflex is padded underneath so impact doesn't hurt too bad, but the turn surface will get ya scratched up pretty good. I've been warm(but fairly comfortable) in snow pants(vents open) and t-shirt. Then you can get tall socks and cut the calf part off and use them as elbow sleeve kinda things! You'll still get a little cut up but it's inevitable. Just don't fall and you'll be good, right?
Don't stay at the hotel on campus, it is very expensive because it is on campus. You can get a hotel in Lynchburg for very very cheap. OR! What we did was we parked in the dorms(don't park at the snowflex lot - they will kick you out) and we slept in our car. Or you can go to walmart and sleep there. Only downfall is not having a shower. We went to walmart and got our hair washed for like 8 bucks and baby wipes can help you to not smell like a dying sweaty carcass. It gets very very warm there haha.
Any other questions? Hit me up. I've been going there every summer for a few years now and I think I can help you out with almost anything. (:
