Today I took my new Krypton's out for the first time and had such a great time, I felt I needed to write a review. FYI, I got the Krypton Cross (not the Pro) as it is slightly less stiff and has a softer plank underfoot, it's basically more of a freeride boot than the pro.
Anyway, as you all probably know, the new Krypton is based on the three-piece design of the old school Raichle Flexons, which until now, were the sweetest boots ever made in my opinion. The flexon system creates some of the best flex pattern in a boot that I've ever felt. It is super rigid laterally, but the forward flex point is actually a bit higher than many other companies, and follows the true movement of your ankle nearly flawlessly.
The middle buckle does wonders for locking your heel down, especially if you have fairly skinny ankles like me. The heat moldable liner also expands around your foot to create an incredible fit right out of the box.
The other advantage of this boot over others I've ridden is that the cuff of the boot is higher than many others (20% higher I believe), which allows for better transfer of energy from your leg to the ski. This is also a great help to people like me who are tall and have long legs as the cuff is hitting you further up your shin.
Sorry for the long post, but this boot is honestly the coolest thing I've experienced in a while. Check 'em out if your in the market for some new boots!
