Seriously gang avoid us. Budget cuts are catching up to Intrawest fast and their insistant lying is hurting. Here is what is going on.
The Duncan and Soleil quads have been shut down since thurs. So has the Gondola been closed most of the time.
Now the Duncan and TGV quads have been evacuated this year. The reasoning for the chairs being closed is because they predicted very cold temps, or high wind. Well the real reason is because of how much it costs to run them when it is very cold. And it is very cold here. But Intrawest has ran those lifts with no problems in cold temps and wind since I've lived here. Money is the reason. Hydro sky rockets when they are run in the extreme cold.
But it is costing and hurting the skiers/riders here. If you ski the north side. You have to take the Expo Chair, then ski down to the Thomas triple to get to the top. Because everyone is bottlenecked there now lines are longer than what I've ever experienced here. The fastest I timed myself getting from the expo to the top today via the singles lines was 54:38 minutes. When it is -22C outside you can suffer hypothermia when in an idle position in 10minutes.
I just thought I would pass this along. Thought you might want to know incase you come up here.
