Faction 2.0 vs Jskis AllPlay vs. Armada ARVti vs. ON3P Kartel 98

I'm from southern VT and ski all mountain 60/40 groomers/park and am looking for a fun ski that can handle it all. I've narrowed it down to these but am not sure what to choose. I mainly charge groomers but am starting to ski park more and am getting better so I want a stiffer ski that can still handle park laps. What's the move?

Well I'll drop a line since no one else has.

I love my ON3Ps. Super fun and durable and I recommend them to anyone and everyone haha. I have no personal experience with armada and j skis but all my friends who have them are going to be getting new skis because the durability they offer is poor. I know nothing about faction other than they aren't as buttery as delorme makes them look. Hope I helped man. ON3P is a sick company for sure.

Yea I've definitely been leaning towards the Kartels since I hear nothing but good things about them but wanted to hear a bit more about the other options so thanks for the input man.

i adore the ARVti. i sorta consider it the best all around park/resort ski out there

the kartels seem to get unanimously great reviews. ive never skied them but might in the future-- i like the dimensions/profile of them a lot

im biased on jskis cause i think those and lines are expensive toy skis for the most part

faction 2.0 seems sick but i have always dropped factions from my list of possible buys when im in the market cause i never seem to find a good price on them. i guess the same might be true for a lot of 0N3Ps and armadas tho ...

Yea the armadas are really the only one's i can get for less than $600 because this year's models are going on sale. Factions seem to be impossible to find, j doesn't make models based on year so prices never go down and on3p are so popular they never really drop in price. Kinda sucks but thats what one has to deal with for some of the best allmtn skis...

Maybe you could pick up some oneps in the spring sale. I'm not sure when the sale Is this year since its Been a good snow year, but I picked up my Kartels on the spring sale last year around this time.

J skis are wayy too soft. The only thing I like about them is that nosebutters take almost no effort. Other than that, they just aren't stiff enough to be good crud busters or carving skis.

Kartel is the way to go.

yeah that all sounds accurate from what ive seen. if you can find the armadas for a good price id go for that. jskis are overpriced noodles (just like many line skis) and yeah factions and 0n3ps don't seem to go on sale much

haha yeah seriously, i can't imagine buying $680 skis (until im too old to put them to good use, anyway) but 450 is pretty good

Yeah for sure that's a lot of cash but I think it's worth it for ON3Ps cause you'll get a lot of use and they're super fun.

yeah ive honestly never heard a bad thing about the kartels. id love to demo them along with my beloved ARVti's (or maybe the new ARVs) and see how differently they behave

Have around 45 days on my 2.0's, haven't had a bad day on them, they do very well all over the mountain, trees, bumps, rock drops, the park, and also hold up to a decent amount of deep snow. I ride 70/30 all mountain/park. I bought mine around this time last year for 450, and have them mounted at freestyle or candide reccomendation. The durability has been good for me, chipping in the normal areas, no delam, had one core shot that I had professionally repaired and has held up. If you can find them at a decent price, you won't regret it.

I love jskis, but I think on3p kartels are the better option here. Nothing but good customer reviews on their side of things.

I'm a similar skier, usually spend half my day skiing around the mountain and the other half in the park fooling around. Allplays have been great for this purpose and this is my third seasons on them now. Durability-wise they have been quite impressive, better than any other skis I've had (one edge crack so far). Had AR7's before the allplays and compared to them they are relatively soft but are much more fun to ride and 1000x better in deeper snow and other variable conditions. Was also pretty cool to be called up by JLev for a question I had about the skis.

A few drawbacks, I think I'd prefer to have a flat tail (or less tail-rocker) on skis like this as that would probably add stability on jumps and at higher speeds. But if you're a decent skier you shouldn't have too many issues skiing fast on them once you get used to it (I know I like to ski fast!).

You've picked some great options for sure though.

This. Everything stated here is entirely true and it's almost funny how similar we are. I've got mine mounted at the same spot and they're the bomb--no complaints. Like he said, there is some topsheet chipping, and I've actually got 3 coreshots--I just filled them at home with ptex and they're holding up totally fine (not the ski's fault either, Alta tends to be very rocky in the early season). Anyways, the skis are so light and have such a low profile it's extremely easy to swing them around.

But..........

I'm looking at Allplays, Vacations (J Ski) or Kartel 98's.

Have either made any advances since this thread which change anyones minds? J Lev is an absolute legend of a man and has given me so much advice, but I still want to be sure. Money isn't a factor as I just want what is best, but it isn't a small amount so I do want to be certain.

I am 5ft9 weighing a small 215lbs...all muscle of course ;)

As OP of this, I feel it should be known that I went with a pair of 186 K98s. Already had high expectations for them going in and I can proudly say they exceeded those. Not only do they handle everything, but they fucking rip everything. Really sturdy and durable but also poppy and fun. Really can’t ask for more. Also the ability to customize the ski with different top sheets etc. is a sweet option to have, albeit a little pricier. As for Jskis, I personally haven’t ridden them but have noticed there are some mixed reviews. So yea I would def recommend ON3P but try to demo both if u can. It looks like both J and ON3P have really stepped up there demo fleet/availability this year, so try to take advantage.
