Line Mordecai Thoughts?

Alright people I need your help. I need new powder skis and have been looking all over. I've looked at Black Crows Anima, Armada Norwalk, Atomic Automatic, and Line Mordecai. I went to try the mordecais but the Shop only had the Magnum Opus which were a shit ton of fun and Charged like none other but I am looking for a little Smaller ski and so I was thinking the Mordecai.

I used to ski on the Head Collective 105 which were a lot of fun but really heavy and stiff. So I am looking for a ski that I can still charge on but one that is a little more playful. What are your thoughts?

I can't say much about the modecai other than it is supposed to feel a lot like the bacons which I use daily. From my understanding they are a medium/stiff flex (bout a 7 maybe) and are super nimble in the tight trees. Also they are supposed to be super light (as far as the 116 waist goes) and a shit-ton of fun

I tried the Bacons about two years ago and found the tails to be to soft and didn't have much control in chopped and bumps. Again, I tried the Magnum Opus and they were exactly what I was looking for in stiffness and Charging but they were just quite wide and am just wondering if the Mordecai has a similar stiffness.

The Mordecai is a bit stiffer than the Magnum. I did a mini review of the 16-17 based on a ski test here:

I own the magnum opus which is by far the funniest "powder" ski that I've ever owned. thar being said I'm buying next years Mordecai's they are a killer ski. At 114 underfoot you would never guess it they handle super well in everything just like the magnum does. In short it's definitely worth the investmen. You won't be disappointed.

I love mine. Deep/crud/bumps/park. They are incredibly light.

We're really stoked on how it came out! 114mm is great powder yet all around size. Add in the tighter sidecut, early taper & rise and it's a super playful light ski .. thanks for considering!

I got the Mordecai's too..

They are really great as a powderski which still performs great onpiste. I dont found them to be as playful, as I want my park ski to be for example. Yet they are still great for jumps in the pow and to drop off cliffs.

But the playfulness thingy could also be, because I choose them in 193cm whil beeing 184cm myself.
But I have to say they are great for pow, bumps, chopped up terrain and moguls, and of course onpiste skiing. I absolutely love them.

You're all over the place haha. The Magnum opus is soft, light, playful and does not charge at all. Pretty easy to over power, bit charging isn't what it is for.

Tge Norwalk is a fucking 2x4 that only wants to go fast, straight, and listen to death metal. Very confidence inspiring, but a handful at slower speeds.

I'd advise to take a look at the liberty origin...

Just bumping an old thread.

I'm really stoked on the Mordecai, but I can't decide between the 186 or the 193...
I'm 6 feet 1 inches (185cm) and I want the ski to be really playful but also to float great in the powder. I'm thinking that the 186 would be great for doing butters and spins but I don't know if it will float well. Any advice?
