Long read but pretty crazy. I don't care how cool you think you are or how some kid got in your way, punching a Mom in the face is fucked up. Seems like Northstar did not handle this well at all

I would definitely say she is blowing it out of proportion. No way that happened at one of their busier lifts and nobody stepped up. I wish i would have went skiing that day and seen it haha.

Something happened but who knows. Obviously at the very least it's being hyped up a little but I'm interested to see what happens.

There was a lady that got out of her car at a stop light and punched another driver in the face then tried to say she was assaulted and that the charges against her were bullshit and the cops were conspiring and stuff.

So who knows.

Either way I feel bad for the kid whether it happened exactly like she said, or completely different it's not really a great situation.

Sounds to me like she's blowing it way out of proportion. If the pass removal is as strict as she's making it out to be I'm led to suspect she didn't handle the incident like she says she did. But that wouldn't make for nearly as convincing of an internet sob story so why would she include any details that make her look bad...

Yeah people on facebook were like "SUE THEM ALL" "FUCK VAIL" "BURN THEM!!!!!"

Idk what happened but in generally vail gets an unfair target on their backs imo. There is bad shit everywhere, even the little mom and pop ski areas. Vail gets hate for being a corporation(which there's nothing wrong with that) and they're in the public eye so anything that happens makes it's way around.

Nobody cares about the bad shit that happens at billy bobs alpine ski playground in some random town nobody has ever been to.

I really want to here the other side though.
I love the smell of edrama in the morning.

It just seems so implausible. Why would a 30 year old snowboarder just all of a sudden go up to a lady with a child, cuss her out, then punch her in the face? I've certainly seen people do some awful stuff in my 13 years living in the mountains, but not like this.

"So, I'm just sitting there and a guy comes up and punches me in the face"

There's got to be more to this story.

As I said in the other thread I'm waiting to hear the other side chime in but based upon how much she brags about how good her kid is and how much she overplayed the emotional damage to her kid makes me really doubt her story. I think she is just your stereotypical overly emotional Midwestern soccer mom in over her head in the culture of the West with a grudge out to get anyone.

"I’ve been snowboarding with my kids in terrain parks for years, and have never come across ANY environment such as the one we encountered at NorthStar. I had to ride through and inhale a cloud of marijauna smoke with my child each time we exited the lift and entered the top of the park. The snowboarders were out of control, dangerous, and belligerent… my 9 year-old son was screamed at while trying to use the park features. He was clearly unwelcome there because of his age, despite being a talented up and coming rider (he’s previously filmed a segment for The Today Show at your Breckenridge resort)."

That quote right there alone proves my point over the stereotypical overly emotional Midwestern soccer mom in over her head in the culture of the West and shows that she had a grudge from the beginning. I bet her precious and SO TALENTED 9 year old was the one cutting people off in the park.

I just have a hard time believing in a lift line, even if the Northstar employee turned a blind eye, SOMEONE had to have seen it at a popular mountain like Northstar who was not okay with it and spoke up. Until I hear the other side or any bystander's story I doubt this lady's story.

yup this. It was on the lift to all of their parks...and there is pretty much always somebody there. Along with that it is right next to the lodge and two other lifts ...so i doubt if he was screaming nobody would have heard it.

Im calling bullshit. Im betting the guy dropped in on top of her son in the pipe (nobody waits there...its a shitshow sometimes) and he yelled at the kid. The mom went and started yelling at him and he called her a bitch...she slapped him then he pushed her away. She then said he "punched her"

Im calling it right now.

If this is true then the snowboarder is LITERALLY a psychopath. I highly doubt that they would punish a mom after being assaulted by a psychopath. Something is very fishy

yeah I'm thinking somebody said something to the kid, or told the mom to fuck off for getting in there way, she got pissed and chased the guy down, he was like "fuck off you're crazy" and she tried to hit him or did hit him, then got her pass pulled etc.

Idk.That seems more likely than northstar being like "Omg you got punched just for riding here, but we always protect the locals"


That said, Vail Resorts is a corporation so you know they're evil.

As someone who works for Vail Resorts at Northstar....

yeah, it's corporate. And sometimes the systems are shitty and not at all what you'd expect from such a big company, but every single person I know in a higher position (like the dudes in charge of liftops/security/lessons/ticket sales) all work SUPER hard to make things run smoothly and keep every guest happy. I have seen many strings be pulled for ignorant guests who just fight their way into the resort everyday.

Yes, Vail Resorts has a pretty bad rap cause it's corporate as fuck, but imo, especially at Northstar, everything they do is geared toward guests having an awesome time every day.
The way the mom went about this incident seems to be completely blown out of proportion and if the security guys were actually that rude (which i'm sure they weren't) then maybe she has viable cause to post that shitty read but i doubt it.

People need to chill out and realize that it's not cool to sue someone for something that most of the time didn't even happen. This is like the whole Wendy's incident again.

I've never laughed so hard than reading that. She did nothing and he randomly decided to start pulling her around and punching her in the face while screaming obscenities including threatening to kill her and no one does anything?

She knows who the border is since she knows he's still riding, and yet she hasn't filed any charges? She was physically assaulted in the lift line and yet no witnesses, no video, and the police do nothing about it except that "welp hun, sorry but sometimes mothers get punched in the face up there"?

With how easy it is to sue a ski resort for negligence, she's taken zero legal action?

Her kid is scarred to the point where he's now scared of other male snowboarders and he can't move without crying and he was depressed in his room for two days straight?

That just seems so made up to me. I dont even think a hammered asshole at a bar would say something like that to a woman, let alone sober at a ski resort...


I've been to a huge number of resorts for 15 years of my life and have been the center of much controversy and tom foolery (ski roundtop days), but i've never seen anything even remotely close this type of aggression. I hate to make presumptions because its certainly possible that this could happen, but the story seems so embellished and implausible that i cant bring myself to believe this woman.

I wish we had the full story or the perspective from northstar and the other guy. The way she described the scene is something out of a crime drama before a woman gets raped, its just not believable. My prediction is that there was some kind of altercation but it was nowhere near the scale in which she described. I think she probably raised her temper in the situation too but isnt admitting it.

To make another generalization: Vail seems to typically take the side of the 'consumer/recreation skier' in situations like this, and she basically described an altercation with park rat.... who would normally have a lower hand in this situation. Again, thats a generalization, but it seems to be the case with Vail. This makes the story of her getting her pass pulled in conjunction with his even less believable.



I think shes pissed that her pass got pulled and is desperately seeking shelter and validation from the internet by writing a grossly fabricated story.





But hey, if I'm wrong then i guess im a huge asshole lol

There is a reddit on this that I saw cross posted on TGR... a witness has come forward and she put shredmom on blast for outright fabricating everything.


This lady gonna get sued. She says she loves her son and wants to support his riding? Well she won't be putting money towards him after this season, it's all going to vail's lawyers.

As all of us, I am interested in the outcome of this whole situation. I agree that this whole story seems embellished but clearly something happened. I believe that both sides are in the wrong but to what extent, no one knows other than them.

This quote really gets me though:

Clearly she's never skied in BC. Here at GMR, our terrain park staff hot box the park cabin, on shift of course.

Makes a lot of sense because if she was assaulted and there was enough proof the assaulter would have been booked and jailed. A month later nothing of the sort has happened. Also, she seems more upset about Vail pulling her pass than actually being "assaulted".

Something is weird here.

One thing this poster could do to make this more believable is show the actual lift activity for the day. You can drilldown to get more information and if she is standing at that lift (or thereabouts) and EpicMix had it logged when this went down. Bam.

I will say if this lady is definitely throwing some big chips on the table for somebody with a fairly decent snowboarder son. Hopefully she's telling the truth because if she's simply crazy and mixed up her meds she's looking at a lifetime ban at Vail if this doesn't pan out for her.

An official letter by Northstar....

"An open letter to our guests:

As the General Manager of Northstar California, I feel compelled to respond to a situation at our resort described by a guest regarding an incident earlier this season between her and another guest. It is important for everyone to know our first and foremost priority is the safety of our guests and employees, and we have zero tolerance for acts of violence. We conducted a timely, thorough investigation into this matter, and given recent interest we believe that it is important to report the results. As with any conflict between two parties, it can be challenging to sort through various positions, but we endeavor to do our best, and to resolve matters fairly based on the results of the investigation. Finally, we always strongly encourage law enforcement involvement and cooperation.

On February 25th, at approximately 1:50 p.m., Northstar Ski Patrol was immediately alerted to an altercation at the Vista Lift Maze. Ski Patrol, Security and Mountain Safety promptly responded to the incident and completed an investigation. One eyewitness to the incident stated Mrs. Danelle Muresan-Foster was the party who was physically aggressive toward another guest. The eyewitness stated that Mrs. Muresan-Foster collided into the male guest in the lift maze from behind; she fell to the ground; and, he tried to help her up. The same eyewitness also stated that Mrs. Muresan-Foster initiated the physical altercation by slapping the other guest. Mrs. Muresan-Foster admitted to the security officer who responded to the scene, a former Sheriff’s officer, that she slapped the other guest. No witness beyond Mrs. Muresan-Foster reported any physical violence toward her. The investigation also found that the other guest engaged in inappropriate behavior with abusive language. Our security officer repeatedly offered at the time of the incident to contact the local authorities for Mrs. Muresan-Foster, however she repeatedly refused. After concluding our investigation, Northstar restricted the skiing/riding privileges of both guests.

We have zero tolerance for acts of violence or abuse by anyone at our resorts, and will suspend lift privileges and mountain access for anyone who engages in this behavior, as we’ve done in this case. We are saddened that this incident took place and so negatively impacted the experience of our guests and staff. We strive every day to provide a fun, safe and enjoyable environment to all of our guests and we actively encourage our guests to act responsibly and respectfully towards one another during their time at Northstar.

after reading the reddit post and that email, this all is making more sense. No way anyone would've let what the mom said happen. Not sure what she was trying to accomplish by making that whole thing up, but I'm glad it all got cleared up.

The truly crazy thing is how far she carried her story if the "eyewitness account" is true. An the eyewitness account seems to be a lady on vacation with no dog in the hunt.

On a scale of mildly to insanely crazy she's topped out at batshit.

I can fully seeing a 20 year old using that language, but the trauma of getting yelled at obviously stuck with her for over a month. I've been yelled at before and yelled at others, but it generally fades after like a few minutes and it is back to good times.

She honestly seems like the type that has never had anything taken away from her. Vail took her pass and it was like daddy telling her no (which may have never happened if you read any of her other blog posts). Full on tantrum and shotgun blame.

I guess she could still be telling the truth, but it looks less and less likely.

This whole situation kinda confused me, I feel like she wouldn't go as far as making up something as crazy as this, I mean whatever brand her son rides for his sponsorship could be at stake, they wouldn't want someone on there team getting into trouble and making a big deal over one little thing. So part of me wants to believe this but at the same time I keep thinking BS

Nah but she should have thought about that. And she should come out with a huge apology. Too little too late but better than nothing. Otherwise if she carries on with this there's a good chance nobody will want to deal with her. Her kid is 9 so it's not like he's on his own. Hopefully this doesn't fuck his chances up with sponsors or worse make him hate the sport a bit.

Idk it probably won't be too bad but what the fuck was she thinking

Yeah because this new breed of "park parents" are so concerned about the well being of their kids outside of pushing them to be the best competitor, as if they were living vicariously through their success....... She's psychotic scum and I'm so happy to see her #feelthebern

Dude could've had some serious mental problems, but I feel like in that case, security would have been more inclined to side with her. There's no doubt in my mind this woman went through some shit and overreacted by posting this exaggerated story.
