razors-chazThe poll in this article has been thoroughly criticized and torn to bits. The headline statistic is bourne of a leading question.
I am entirely opposed to everything which ISIS want to achieve but, i have sympathy to the motives which led to the attacks, that in no way means i support the actions.
sympathy =/= support. Sympathy literally means to understand between parties. I understand that if my religion taught that my god should not be depicted then some people would be angered when somebody depicts my god. it does not mean that I agree with the actions but I can see and sympathise with the motives.
The rest of the questions in the poll clarify this point that, while they understand and sympathise with the motives of the attack as they find it offensive themselves they do not agree that the attackers are justified in attacking the publishers.
What you have done is jump from a leading question in a misreported poll about british muslims to a generalisation about muslims all across europe. Your outpourings in so many of your posts are helping to create a "them and us" mentality which leads muslims to feel further ostracised/hated by the west, which is exaclty what ISIS wants, as it can be easily used as a tool for recruitment. I'm not saying you are directly fuelling ISIS recruitment but the collective process is there.
You're just arguing bullshit semantics, for lack of any substantive argument.
How about this one?
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/many-british-muslims-put-islam-first/
"Some answers are provided by the most comprehensive survey to date of Muslim opinion in Britain. The results from NOP Research, broadcast by Channel 4-TV on August 7, are startling.
Forty-five percent say 9/11 was a conspiracy by the American and Israeli governments. This figure is more than twice as high as those who say it was not a conspiracy. Tragically, almost one in four British Muslims believe that last year's 7/7 attacks on London were justified because of British support for the U.S.-led war on terror.
Thirty percent of British Muslims would prefer to live under Sharia (Islamic religious) law than under British law. According to the report, "Half of those who express a preference for living under Sharia law say that, given the choice, they would move to a country governed by those laws."
So I might not directly support the fact that you want to blow up people in your host country, but I "sympathize" with your motives. Give me a break.
And this argument about flawed polling is absurd. These results have been proven time and time again my multiple, often non-partisan, research organizations. Even within the statistical margin of error, these are significant numbers, and taken on the average, leave an average of around 25% of Muslims who are fundamentalists, islamists, and fanatics in Western Europe, with a much higher percentage among 2nd generation muslims.
