-peteduncan-Has anyone had experience breaking their talus? I know it's a hard one to heal and get strong. I will for sure be going super hard on the physical therapy and I've been smart and careful with my ankle since surgery. How was your healing time and how did it heal? Any experience with boot pains/ skiing in general afterwards? Thanks for any answers!
BoardSideDownBroke both my legs September of 2013, right talus, left femur. The main thing is to find a physical therapist that will give you the correct workouts, but also help break the scar tissue down to make sure you have maximum mobility. My right ankle does not have the same mobility as my left, but it is pretty close. Good news is though I was skiing by may 2014.
Only problem I have with my boots is that it rubs the right side of my ankle. This is because my ankle is just a little bigger then before. You may not have the same issue, it is very minor and I can still put down a good 3 days in a row before it's too bad.
I'd also recommend doing twice the amount of at home workouts they give you (if they don't give you t home workouts find a new PT). Also, let them know that you are athletic and want to be back in good condition as soon as possible.
PM me if you have any other questions.
