Most disgusting job you've had?

I work at a small municipality building. I do a different task everyday. It pays well, but it is disgusting. Some of the tasks include:

-Being a garbage man on trash day. And we are assigned to take the trash from the local dog park and the local elementary school/day care. I usually rub Vick's vaporub underneath my nose but I'm still close to vomiting every time.

-The local school's plumbing system backed up the one day. Rather than calling professionals, they called us. We were not qualified for the job. We were pretty much doing 1800s style plumbing. My boss opened a pipe and said "ok your job is to fill the buckets and take it outside". Then shit water started flowing out of the pipe. I filled like 3 buckets while holding my breath the entire time. Then I started breathing and I had to do anything to keep me from vomiting. At one point the pipe had straigh shit coming out of it. It looked like a soft serve ice cream machine. And then like 2 months later we were filling the same buckets with water to go water some trees, and it was a hot day so I stuck my head in one of the buckets. I had forgotten that they were used at the school. My boss saw me and said "Boy you just stuck your head in a shit bucket". I was sick for about a week.


-Replacing a wall made out of railroad ties. Had to chop up the ties, and it was a super hot day when we did it so I was breathing in creosote all day. Driving back to the shed, my boss smoked a fat cigar the entire way there.

I was a kennel tech at a no kill dog shelter for 4 years, fun as fuck, got to play with dogs all the time but damn it got gross sometimes. When the shelter was first starting out we didnt have a very established foster program so all the puppies were at the shelter instead of in foster home like they do now. We had a designated puppy room and at night they were shut in a 10x10 linoleum lined enclosure. They'd spend all night shitting and pissing and sometimes vomiting and in the morning you'd show up to let them outside and they'd be so happy to see you but the whole room would be coated in bodily fluids. They'd be jumping and bouncy and puppyish while flinging a puppy shit soup all over you and they would be covered in it too. It was gnar.

I worked in a nursing home. I've seen shit on the floor, naked old people walking around and puréed food of every type. I will say puréed fish was fucking disgusting. Some of the old guys were still horny old bastards would sit on their walker in the doorway to their room and beat it.

I worked at a recycling center for a temp service a while ago. It was kind of gross but you got used to it. You wouldn't believe what people throw away tho. One of the ways to get over the fear of trash was to drink garbage liquor. I know but wait a sec first you gota make sure it is at least 1/3rd full. Then you make sure it doesn't smell like piss. Then you drink that shit and if the boss is coming just throw the bottle in the glass crusher. There were only 2 temps and the rest of the guys were in jail so we got all the garbage booze. I was apprehensive at first but in hind sight that shit was fun as hell!

I used to work in a dish room in a cafeteria. We would throw all the uneaten food down this river thingy which lead to this giant blender thing that would chop all of it up and shoot it into a trashcan. At the end of the night we would have to clean the blender part out of stuff that didnt get spit into the trashcan. Stuff smelled horrible and felt like puke. Worst was when they served ribs cause then this puke like substance was all sharp and pokey.

working in a dish pit for a large high volume restaurant was pretty gross.

But now being a brewer I get wet and sweaty all day and not to mention the beer showers. It's not too bad once you get used to it.

im not sure I believe you because im a little stoned, but if this is true, it is such a disgusting and awesome thing to do. My friend was telling me stories when he was a CNA at a nursing home. I don't wish that on anyone haha.

A couple years ago, a group of teens in northern BC found a clear liquor bottle full of a clear liquid on the side of the road. They drank the contents and it turned out to be methanol. Two of them died. One went blind. One was in a coma and ended up with brain damage.

But keep drinking garbage liquor.

I worked in a dish pit for a steakhouse in high school. One night, someone broke a glass at the bar, and then puked on the glass. It was really fun cleaning that up with my hands. People are generally disgusting, and washing dishes wreaked havoc on my immune system.

Cleaning crushed rodents like squirrels, chipmunks, marmots, etc. off of a giant frying pan known as an alpine slide definitely wasn't a highlight of mine during high school. Kids would be mortified if they ran one of the little dudes over though lol. theyd come down to the bottom of the slide like they just came back from the 'nam.


most recently I had to fully clean one of those huge automated coffee/espresso/cappuccino/hot cocoa machines after some of the drink mixes clogged up the dispensing hoses. both the coffee grounds waste and drip trays were overflowing/spilling out a concoction of disgusting drink flavoring sludge. creamer is one god damn difficult substance to get off.

During a couple summers in college I was a carpet cleaner. Holy shit. Some days you would have super easy houses where it was a wine stain and some milf wanted someone to come clean it up. But when all the section 8 housing and college housing in my town would turnover... Dear god. We'd have these rigs that shoot out water at like 200 degrees and simultaneously pull it out. It would get so steamy and swampy. Animal + Human hair/piss/general stuff doesn't mix well.

One time on at the end of a long summer work day my homie and I were getting ready to bail and closing up the truck. He was adjusting the valve on our waste tank and that shit just let loose. Homie got drenched in 8 hours worth of section 8 housing waste. Was fucking hilarious but it smelled like actual death

Depends where you work though, My pond job is a breeze minus some rule enforcement and boo-boos. pools are a whole different story..... fucking pool vacuum bag cleaning

For a couple weeks last fall there was this kid from the water polo team who would take a shit in the pool everytime his team came in and practiced. Like all the other water polo kids thought it was hilarious so they would cover him while this little shit took a shit. Theres ~40 kids in the pool at one time so there was way too much commotion to notice the kid shitting..

But besides that I literally get paid to do nothing because the pool is dead when I work now so thats cool.

I was a temp a a recycling plant for a couple of months. My line got everything from the cardboard bins. Basically stood there and pulled out cardboard from all the garbage that went down the conveyor belt. People live in some of those dumpsters so we were suspicious that any container was someones pisser or crapper. I finally had to quit because it was making me crazy. The conveyor and smell combined to make me feel like I was moving and the garbage was staying still. Seriously felt like I was skating or boarding for my entire shift.

Got so sick of it that I eventually quit to do politically campaigning for an agency that ended up ripping me off and never paying me. If I had stuck it out at the recycling plant who knows what questionable decisions I would have made.
The whole experience makes me appreciate having a good job a lot more. Also, I never put anything gross in the recycling bin.

Yea whenever work gets me down im like...... well atleast im not sorting garbage. I still put weird shit in the recycling tho just to fuck with the jail peeps that no doubt still work there.

I worked at a the seven springs ski rental shop last season. It's not a gross job normally but there is always one kid who pukes on any given school trip. Also once this girl shit her pants and her pants acted like a strainer. So her shit spaghetti just ploped on the floor and I almost fainted. It was the most disgusting thing I've ever seen in my life
