Deep Sea Fishing

So NS, I'm going down to Mexico next week and I'm going deep sea fishing. Anyone on here deep sea fish before? Have anything to brag about? Where did you go? I'll be south of Playa deal Carmen. Hopefully in a week I'll be able to share some pretty neat pictures.

I went off of Bermuda, had a pretty awesome time

Hooked into all kinds of fish that I've since forgotten the name of, got to see a guy handling a massive grouper, and the wife caught a lionfish

All in all awesome

I went out of morro bay, CA. I don't remember what i caught cause it was ~10 years ago but it was super cool and fish where dying to be caught.

Bermuda is sick, didn't fish there but is an awesome tropical place and its not like mexico where if you leave your hotel you get stabbed, you can actually explore the island

Last time I went deep sea fishing was off the coast of Key West, caught some nice mahi mahi. Deep down I was hoping to catch a marlin, but no luck. I'm pretty sure that both mahi mahis and marlins roam the waters off Playa del Carmen.

I went 50 miles out from Bradenton Florida in the Gulf and caught some nice snapper and amberjack. Have fun man, it's such a sick experience!

Yep! I went deep sea fishing in hawaii a couple years back, 12 hour day. One of the coolest experiences of my life. We ended up catching 4 marlin all over 200 pounds. The 2 hour fight to catch a fish being strapped into a massive chair is pretty exhilarating. DO IT.

Fished in Cozumel, Mexico and caught one little fish as big as my hand. Big waste of my day. We also trolled the whole way though.

When did you go? Apparently the fishing is best around those waters from March to June

Late July so probably the reason. But I talked to a few other people that went and they caught some nice fish. The resort we went to cooked the fish they caught too, which I thought was pretty dope.

Yeah whatever we catch our charter will clean for us and we can take it to a local restaurant or our resort which will be dope. I'm really hoping to catch a mahi mahi or a marlin/sailfish even though the marlins and sailfish are only catch and release. It would be dope

That'd be sick man the Marlins take hours to get I was told by my Hispanic guide on the boat. You scuba diving by chance? It is one of the coolest experiences I've ever done.

Yeah 3 years ago we scuba dived in Cozumel. I actually didn't like it that much cause where we did it was just a bunch of rocks. I think if there was a cool reef it would be better.

Since we'll be on the mainland this time we'll be visiting cenotes as well and might do a dive in a cenote.

have you ever been to mex? As long as you're not in the border towns, it's actually filled with the nicest people, fun waves, great food. I love it down there. We take a surf trip down to baja every summer or so, one year my dad reeled in a couple 40 pound dorados

yeah went a couple years ago, just saying Bermuda is a lot friendlier of a place compared to mex, like you don't need to live in an apartment complex that have fences with broken glass on top to stop intruders in Bermuda like you do in mexico

I went out of Cabo San Lucas. My advice is to talk to the captain of the boat and ask what fish have been hitting recently. When I went, Marlin hadn't been hitting so we fished for mahi mahi yellowtail and Arctic Bonita. Catching something is better than nothing. We ended up catching like 30 fish in 4 hours and it was the best fish I have ever eaten
