Female Invites for B&E

I didn't see any female invites. There are a few female skiers that could do great and have a chance to showcase their style. Unless I'm mistaken, it might be time to share in the fun.

Whilst I have no issue with separate men's and women's events, I can't think of a woman who'd happily hold her own in that field. There are plenty of male skiers who didn't get invited who would slay that course harder than a chick IMO. Plus I'm assuming there were no gender limitations on the edit invite thing which joona k won. Therefore if women were good enough to warrant an invite then surely more women would've been invited

Also, the b&e setup has a lot of similarities to pipe contests and having seen the x games Oslo women's pipe, I think there's still a way to go on that front. If they did a similar setup to 9 kings/queens where both genders get to ride then great...go for it. But giving an invitation to b&e to a female skier just because she's a woman....can't see that happening

My bad, meant to say that if women were good enough to warrant an invite then we'd have seen far more women in the edit competition bit and possibly a female winner

Bingo. She has amazing style and can go WAY bigger than I'll ever be able to; but match her up with Ahmet, Candide, Harlaut and so on I feel like she still wouldn't stand a chance. Sildaru is on the right track if she loses the goepper robot spins soon. And brooke potter also has awesome style in my opinion as well. I just don't think they go as big. (and I hope this changes cuz I'd love to see even a full on womens category at the B&E)

she's like 13, who cares if she spins like goepper, she'll probably never learn to have style because she's being pushed sponsors to get better and more technical

There was 1 girl this year that made the final 5 for the BE @ B&E Invitational online edit contest from Rest of the World category. one day it will probably happen. but, already phil and henrik don't have enough spots to invite everyone they want. so, hopefully the event continues and we can continue to bring new and different riders every year to give the platform of this event to.

Why didn't they open up 1 extra slot for a female? Or consider dropping a guy for the finalist?

Because we want to see good skiers, not any of this affirmative action bullshit. I'm all for women being invited to it, as long as they earned it. If I was a pro on the edge of being invited and I got beat out by a girl half as good as me just because she's a girl I would be pissed.

How pissed would you be if she was actually better than you? I don't give a shit about this affirmative action but maybe girls don't push themselves as hard for style because they don't have events like this for themselves.

Yeah sure, the only reasons girls skiing hasn't progressed as much as men's is because they're all pissed at not getting a b&e invite

9 queens is a similar contest, I don't think a lack of contests is the biggest reason for women's skiing not progressing as fast tbh

9 queens is just another joke for the comp riders to have a park to themselves. Just like 9 kings. You don't see many stylish riders in either event. Just people who throw constant hammers lol. Let's start a petition to get a mountain to hold a women's style comp.

I wouldn't be mad. There's a shit ton of girl skiers that are than better than me right now. Do I hate them? Nah, I would actually probably fuck a majority of them.
And yeah, because X games and the Olympics aren't enough to push for?
I would be down for a female only style comp, go get it started and I'll back you. It will totally be super easy to get all the major sponsors on board to fund a comp that won't get as much recognition as a male one that they could sponsor. Just ask Under Armour, they probably have a lot of money to throw around after cancelling WoR

I don't see why the woman couldn't have a competition of their own the following the men's event, given that the course is already built, I don't see why the cost would be that much greater.
