Got mine At the end of season two years ago I think? It's a good shell, love the big hood so it fits over my helmet. repels water pretty well if kept clean. Only complaint is the fabric on the zippers fraying but that's not a big deal at all. I love the big pockets and interior pouches, I can store my entire lunch in my coat no problem and I love it. Note I got the xxl

Wish they would have kept the older 2011 Monarch around with the interior lining. Their 2L series is sick, but having 5,000mm waterproofing less is a drawback.

I mean this is the bottom line

I have one from 3 seasons ago. If you ride mostly resorts and not a tonne of deep pow days its a solid shell. The quality definitely isn't top tier, the zippers fray, the stitching pops in some places, the seams definitely aren't totally taped, the collar is huge (positive on cold days for keeping your face warm, negative on pow days when all the snow flies in), and by far the biggest drawback is that on a pow day it just isn't that waterproof (but the breathability is good). I always walk away way more soaked compared to my friends wearing goretex

that being said, my friends all paid 400+ for their jackets, and I got mine on sale for 150. So for the price its good, and if you don't often ride in super wet conditions it'll suit you just fine

pretty much came in to say exactly this. Its a decent coat for the price, but i wont be buying one again. Waterproofing is sup-par, seams pop, stitching pops, coat tears easily, etc. Also the sleeves are just ridiculously long. But you get what you pay for i suppose. My next coat won't be a saga coat, but its done the job decently enough since I've had it. My needs have grown since buying it, and unfortunately I think i need to buy a "real" coat for next year :'(

I would say that it is waterproof to a point but not if you are out in the rain/sleet/snow that we get in the pnw for more than a few hours. I do like how light it is for hiking and it definitely is a good insulator and keeps you warm if you layer well. My only real complaint is that the seams have started to peel off on the inside (picture below). I would rate as follows:

Waterproof: 6/10
Breath-ability: 7/10
Weight: 9/10
Fit: 9/10

Overall: 8/10
