Things To Make Your Ski Day Better

So I just had a "Wow I wish I had these for the last few years moment" today and decided to share, see what else people have.


What you peoples got? Tips, tricks, tunes, gear, anything...

Even if it's stuff that people known about but some people might not. Anything helpful.

leave a shovel in your car just in case you wanna build. also if you tour it's not a bad idea to bring that shit up erreyday regardless

theabortionatorAt Turoa people were coming down from Auckland and so excited to ski they'd be lined up for the lift over an hour before it opened. We had a small park on the magic carpet going down from the chairlift so we'd work on that first and sometimes people were lined up before we even got there. And we were going to finish, that go up the lift, and it was still a while before the public got to go up.

That's not that ridiculous but plenty of times the conditions weren't even good. It would be a sheet of ice, and half fogged in, and people were lining up like it was 4 feet of light fluffy pow.

Unbelievable.

I remember a friend who was a lifty telling me she had a kid bragging to her that he got 7th chair. She asked '"did you have a good run?" "No. But I got 7th chair!"

Like wtf is that logic.

That said people were dropping 20'+ cliffs when we got 2 inches of snow. and it was a sheet of ice underneath. Some wild motherfuckers.

/cool story.

I like pow in the morning but park laps in the afternoon.

I was thinking about the blends because I want to trip out to CO next year


they certainly work in the park, not too bad is a very good way to describe the park experience on them. The thing about that size is that its not really ideal for any specific aspect of skiing, but they get it done in everything you can put in front of them.

Yea I think that is what I am going to go for, they just look like a fun buttery ski too

theabortionatorIf you're out on the slopes all the time you've probably run into the phone dying problem. A decent option that I've been using for several years is the handwarmer method. Works pretty good to keep it from dying from cold but still doesn't keep it from running down.

Anyway I just bought a 2 pack of those little usb powerpacks. I'll have to see how they hold up but pretty stoked so far. Realized my speaker wasn't charged tonight, but I plugged it in to one of those and was cranking my tunes while charging the damn thing.

I've known they existed but not sure why I didn't buy one sooner.

Also the $10 ihomes from walmart are pretty solid for a cheap speaker. Mines been frozen in


I mean handwarmers work but when my phone dies from the cold I just put it on my bare stomach or another warm part of my body it warms up and comes back to life

definitely the butteriest skis ive owned. Id go for it, it will make you a better all around skier.

Earbuds, doob tube to hold joints while skiing, flask for liquor, portable phone charger, and a dab pen will ensure you have an awesome day skiing.
