Im going to be purchasing a camera that will be used equally for filming skiing as it will be for taking skiing pictures/landscape photos. I have done a bit of filming with the t2i and the canon 5d mark ii. But i don't understand much about the camera's past iso, focusing, and proper white balancing. I'm looking at the 7d mark ii which is what i'm looking to spend but i could be convinced otherwise and would appreciate some sound advice!

Do you have a camera already or were you just borrowing the ones you listed in your post?

this. if you have one and dont understand iso/focusing/WB, i would save yourself some money and keep watch you have, both of those cameras would be more than enough for you

Check out the sony a7.

Slightly cheaper than 7dii and imo a significantly better camera for photo and especially video. Its got more megapixels, better iso performance, better looking 1080p video, and super useful features such as focus peaking and zebra.The 28-70 kit lens that comes with it is also amazingly sharp for the price. Only gripes are probably slightly slower autofocus and less choices with sony lenses but there are good adapters for canon/nikon lenses if you choose to take that route. Look at the a7ii also if you want to pay more for some of its features. I shoot on the a7s and am in love with it.

sorry, forgot to mention that the camera's are not mine, i don't own anything aside from a go pro.

While the camera itself it better, I feel like Canon glass is just to good. Regardless of your setup, be sure to use canon glass. Until sony catches up, I think a speedbooster and canon glass is a must.

I have the 7D2, it is killer. Really durable, fast, and ready to be used. (And it uses the same batteries as the 60D, 70D (i think), 5d2, and 5d3 which is nice because Wasabi makes great LP-E6's for like 10$ a piece..

I would go 7D2 and enjoy the ability to use any kind of glass you want.
