i think right in the middle they have some sort of plate and they dont have metal edges right under the boot either. could be wrong i dont know, but i would be interested in some. how long and how much?

I have heard rumors that grind plates get snow frozen to them really easily, which sux balls. Happens to my urban skis if i dont watch em' for a while.

I hav these skis and they are fine. No they dont freeze up or anythin. Completely fine wit that, just VERY fast on rails!

I used to ski these, they held up fine, edging wasn't too bad, especially considering there's essentially no edge underfoot. They turned a lot quicker than the regular pow'airs, I think they had a shorter turning radius. But they were VERY fast on rails like mentioned before.
The local shop still has like 3 new pairs of 178's
apparently nobody wants them...

You don't really rely on the edge that's directly under your foot too too much. unless you're making super high speed carves leaning way over.
Which is not what this ski is for.

dont be a pussy they aint that heavy at all. And they are fairly stiff to, nothin like the floppy filmsy p.o.s. scratches...def better for all mtn than those.

Yeah, never had a problem with the weight.
I really liked them a lot, they had some snap to them out of the turns, and as long as you weren't on ice they rocked!
Now if they only made a version with full edges!
(sadly the regular pow'air had a much longer turning radius)
