PuzzledHead over to Avila, and bring your ice skates.
skiznutsI'm going to Mont Saint Sauveur for March break and I wanna know where I can find the best runs. I am a park skier, but I also like to dabble in powder and monkey trails. Please help me.
skiznutsbut I also like to dabble in powder and monkey trails.
Mr.BishopAlso, remember that Quebec law states you have to wear helmets in the terrain parks. You will not be able to ride park without one.
soupmonkey trails? do explain.
charlesactonAvila's park is closing at 3pm for an hour of grooming then opens back for the rest of the day, til 10pm. However, there is a 23$ fee for the park pass, but if you stay for more than two days its worth it.
skiznutsLittle glades.
Mr.BishopJesus, that is up to $23? Gnarly.
liamrashotteIt seems like park passes in Quebec have jumped in price a crazy amount. It was $10 last year for a park pass at tremblant and now it's $35

Mr.BishopHoly christ... is there any parks there that don't require it?
I'm all for park passes, but that is nutty on top of a day ticket if you're just visiting.
liamrashotteYeah there's 2 parks that don't although if you go for the day it's $10

freestyler540Yeah, but this is how they can pay for the snow creation and moving. I have no problem dishing out an extra 10-20$ for real XL features that get magazine recognition. Avila does have a very comparable park to Bromont's, but I found the attitude of the Saint Sauveur area to be terrible. Too many rich kids that need to show they own the place. Maybe it changed...

FTSgoing to mont saint anne for the break, could anyone tell me if they have a park pass because their website is outdated for the park section. thanks
Dexyeah man they charge 20 bucks or so. I was ok the first day as i was quick through the gate before the park staff could get me. second day we got bitched at cuz my friend had to do his binders.
It is infuriating to have to pay an additional charge if you're only at the mountain for a day or two especially for hills like Sauveur. I wouldn't mind just buying a park pass rather than a whole hill pass as thats all I'm going to ski. But like the other guy said it does make sense if you're there the whole season. It seems weird that its only an east coast thing but I guess west coast resorts do have far more funding..
FTSI've never needed a park pass before so is it to access only the park or do you have to buy a normal pass for the mountain and a park pass on top of that
VinnieFEdelweiss (owned by Sauveur) has a sick park and no park pass this year. Usually they do.
lfiebig11Maybe heading up their next week. Do you know if the park is still in decent shape at this time of year?
Mr.BishopOh I totally get it, I mean I used to run a park that had a park pass and it was a gamechanger for us when we started it.
Hearing that they have the $10 for the one day is much better. I just always saw people who would come for one day and be really bummed at the extra cost. $10 is easier to stomach, but $23 is high.
I just wish that skiing didn't cost so much. Park is a perfect place for a kid to get into it for real cheap and enjoy themselves. Hate seeing too many extra costs, but you're right that making sure you have the best features is key.
I think more of the issue is I wish mountains had really quality beginner parks. I think its a big mistake to have mostly XL stuff and really ignore the lead-up features.

skiznutsThat's sick! I live near there and I thought they had the park pass this year, but apparently not. I'll have to hit sometime. How is it?
skiznutsThat's the plan. So you can use the park pass for the whole season?
