gps in skis.

i think itd be cool if they developed a cheap gps system to put in skis. then if they were stolen, you could track them down easy. pretty unrealistic idea but hey in 10 years it may be reality

Or in ten years you might have an electronic tag underneath your boot so it works only with your boot and if someone tries to step in it the breaks will automatically come down and stay that way until you type in your super secret username and password and it'll reset. Or we can always buy locks and guns for defense.

I think an avy transceiver that worked off of GPS would be sick. No time wasted in grid searching. You could just head straight to the victim.

that would be tight if your boot and binding would only allow your boot to fit inside the binding but when someone elese put's their boot into the binding the brake would not go down. that'd be tight but way too advanced

i was idly speculating about something like that for locating powder lost skis. needless to say i was getting pissed off hunting for them while thinking that

just talked to a friend in the bussiness of gps , he says in 2 yrs they will have the know how to have this product out on the market.

Someone told me that the Burton Custom X has a locator chip in it this year. We were arguing about it at work and the rep hasn't called us back yet to clarify the situation.

You'd think that they would be advertizing the shit out of it if that was true though.

I don't think so dude the cost at this time is rediculous for companies to even think bout puttin it in a product, put it this way gps today cost +/- 600, skis or board +/- 600-800 $$$
