Alright Armada, what's the deal?

I just realized Hornbeck has never had a pro model through armada. He's been riding for them for years and is one of the most respected skiers on their team. Especially a few years back. T hall, Harlaut and even b dog have had their own pro model; but why not Mike?

Maybe he doesn't want/need a promised it's not like armada wouldn't give him one but, I'm sure he doesn't need a pro model to be happy with the company also armada offers a pretty wide range of "styles" of skis from tradition camber to crazy buttery rockered skis, he has so many to pick from why would he need his own?

All very solid rebuttals. I'm sure he doesn't need one. But maybe a few years ago when he was one of the poster children for armada maybe his ski could've been the original halo or another fun ass park ski.

Hornbeck isn't the most popular skier so it isn't worth it for Armada to market him with a pro model

because he doesn't need one, isn't the most popular skier on their team, rides a lot of different models. Torin would probs get one before mike it would just be a new name for the pipe cleaner/AR8. I love mike though sick skier he almost ran me over at orage masters when i was like 11.

For a big ski company like Armada it's all about marketing. When you have huge names like Henrik, Casabon, THall, Torin and now Sammy Carlson on your team it's hard market pro models for all of them. It makes more sense to let all of your athletes give input into your skis but only give the most well known skiers who have a very unique style a pro model.

I agree; but before Harlaut b dog and Carlson who were their top riders? Id say t hall Mike and invictus.

I think we can all agree that the Halos (now B dogs) have always been Hornbeck's ski.. It was the only park ski that hadn't been made into a pro model and b dog was more popular and therefore got to make his pro model from that ski instead of Hornbeck... I would personally buy the fuck out of a Hornbeck pro model if it was similar to the old Halos..

I loved everything about the first b dog pro model except it was too stiff for my weak knees. I super agree with your statement though homie.

Agreed, was going to chime in and say there is no way that Hornbeck didnt have input on the halo's or any of the beginning of Armada's early rise line. He was on that grind with his nollie lip game in the streets before the B Dog or EDollo's were even a thought.

Sidenote: Still the best ski company in the game, have had ar5's 6's, THalls, Halo's and been on pretty much all their stuff over the past few years at least once. Too much fun, theyve got a ski for everything now even ice coast monday night beer league that holds and edge and gives the speed suits a run for their money while ive got stubby park poles and a baggy ass hoodie on.

Thall WAS. And what does thall do for armada to represent and promote the brand ? Absolutely nada .

he's part owner, so I'm sure that has something to do with it. He was a pioneer in competition freeskiing, so I'm sure that has something to do with it. He is still one of the most recognizable names in freeskiing, so I'm sure that has something to do with it.

It's the same reason guys like Joe Montana still have promotional deals. He hasn't played a down of football in decades but you bet your ass people recognize the 2nd best Quarterback of all time when they see him.

He's a film skier now, not a comp skier. I believe he's working on a multi-year film project right now and he consistently puts out some of the best pow/big mountain/backcountry segments out there. Perhaps not as many as he used to, but when they show up, they're fire.

THall might not be a person I would hope my kids aspire to be, but he's still one of the best skiers out there.

There is far more to marketability than being a competition skier. He is essentially a resident-pro at Retallack. He still puts out film parts and photos that find their way into major ski publications.

And if I were a part owner of a company, you bet your sweet ass I'd have my own pro-model.

Still rocking the old halos, I'm gonna be so salty when they finally break. The new bdog is not like them. Even the halo 2 was not like them

Uhhhhhh if they brought back the old skinny halo/alpha 1 shape I would buy 10 pairs. I was highly dissapointed when they got rid of it.

I dont think ive seen mike on bdogs but he rides the alpha x a lot i think they aresimlar but the alpha is wider and softer...?

No I know but like the shape of the b-dog was jacked from the halos. Halo 1 is seriously one of the best skis ever made

I loved the shape of the b dog and how responsive it was. But personally I just thought it wasn't really a fun ski. I went back to riding lines after I bought a pair. Y'all talking about the halos really makes me wanna find a pair.

haha ! I have no clue why the don't make it no more... Only thing wrong with the Halo series has always been the top sheets.. Not pretty...

I just don't like how they started making it softer and softer every year, that's why I like the original Halo 1 so much more. It was already soft enough for me.
