What truly is creativity and where does it come from? I've been pondering this for a while and it really makes me wonder what truly defines creativity? I'd like to think of myself as a creative skier but that's probably because I'm limited in the things I do, so I do them differently.
For example we have Candide and the Bunch. Both to a certain extent are creating and doing things that are outside the box, but to what extent is that actually creative. Is a cork 7 onto grass creative? You're doing a common trick with a personal flair but to what point are you creating something new.
That leads me into my next point. Is doing something new creative? Sure a quad has never been done but is it truly original? It is just inverting yourself four times. And people have been flipping for years. On the other end of the spectrum drifting up a lip and 50/50 a tube is considered "creative skiing"
I guess what I'm getting at is what is creative skiing. Personal flair or new tricks? Or none of the above.
