eheathI posted in the video comments, but these are my basic thoughts.

I wasn't a huge fan of this edit.

Was the filming well done? Sure, some great long lens stuff, drone shots were nice (especially the line through all three jumps) overall they crushed it. Editing? Not so much, the color was different in basically every shot, with this much time and effort they took to produce this product, not to mention the money that was probably tossed around, the overall color was completely botched. The song is a whole different issue that I have, but now we're just getting subjective.

These days its tough to define what makes a "good" edit. Good filming? Good editing? music, sound etc this edit screamed overproduced to me and the post production was handled in a sloppy way for the apparent production that was behind it. I also feel like nick was limited with the smaller park which caused for this edit to be extremely underwhelming for me. That's just my $.02


The fact that you felt the need to post the same comment in another feed kills me. You're eheath, not some fucking troll, act like it. To go to this extent to talk shit on someone edit kills me. You're looking like a wash up that realizes he's got competition. Was a huge fan of yours...no more. Sorry homie, gotta chill on the critic shit. This is skiing, not the fucking academy awards.

If anything I was critiquing, I made some positive comments, one negative about the editing overall and then expressed my subjective opinion. I'd even consider my comment about nicks skiing as a compliment but whatever, you kids love to find any reason to get mad at me so Ill let you be.

Kid ur Fuckboi like most kids on this site. I talked with him at woodward at copper and hes actually chill as fuck and not hes full of him self at all. Anyone saying he doesn't have style is a fucking idiot. This edit and the one 2 years ago from Mammoth are both on point. the switch 2 to shuffle 2 out at 1:35 was fuckin smooth and same with the sw 7.

Theres more to skiing than just what Nick does, gosh can't believe some people have the audacity to not see every aspect of this sport and appreciate the different styles and elements people bring to the table. When I say story I mean that you are able to see that somebody has put time into the edit and that there is a "mood" or a "meaning" that the editor has tried to make apparent in the edit.. I don't know if that makes sense to you...

When I say story I don't mean "ones upon a time yadayada..." It has to do with coherence in the succession of tricks.

All of your favourite edits have what I would call a "story"

I appreciate the critic. It's great to get feed back from other filmmakers that have a different eye and style. It's the best way to improve and I agree with you about the color and your comments. I was super rushed to finish the color grade before I left for Europe. Wish I have more time.

Ok then, but if you can't see that somebody has put a shitload of time into this, you're just blind. The mood the editor was going for is pretty apparent.. You could say that every edit out there is just the skier showing his bag o' trix
