So for various reasons i'm moving to another state and therefore won't be skiing in my home park anymore. Since i know me and my friends used to be a very closed off group and rarely let other people join our "pack" i was wondering how to make new friends in the park and such now that everybody seems to be so competitive and sort of an asshole to new people who end up riding in their neck of the woods.
Ride up the singles line and chat up the people on the chair. Don't be a creep about it but just keep it friendly. I met easily about 75% of my new friends this year on the chair.
Snake people on every feature. Eventually they will get so angry at you they will fight you. After you beat the shit out of them, then they will let you in their group. Easy.
Just curious, are you moving for college, or just for work?
As far as making friends who ski in general goes:
Do competitions and local events. In my experiences, comps are great in bringing local park skier/snowboarders together.
Also don't be afraid to just approach kids in the park. I met one of my best friends when he asked me to film a trick he was trying. We didn't know each other at all, but ended up lapping together all day, and have been really good friends for the past 3 years.
Overall, with the right attitude, it's pretty easy to make friends who ski.

so ski park with people you go to school with? its really not that hard to make friends in the park too, just be friendly and have fun and you'll meet people. personally, I'm sure i could go to keystone or breck alone on any given day and find people to lap with. on the other hand, if I'm riding with a group of friends and ride a chair with or talk to a kid that seems like he can keep up and he asks to ski with us, I'm never opposed to that (gotta keep up though, if we're hot lapping and youre falling every feature or can't hold your own, I'm not gonna wait for you)
Moving from AK for work this April wasn't disappointed when I got an offer in Denver I plan on calling people out on the mountain or playing Gnar by myself until people ask to join
Whenever I go on a family ski vaca i'm forced to find kids in the park to ride with, just ask someone if you can ride with them and most of the time they'll be cool and you'll make some new friends
Park attitude is like highschool attitude. The less effort you put into being cool the better. Just get ignant and act like you don't need any new friends. Before you know it everyone will think your exclusive and want to be your friend.
