So I'm going on a 2 week kayaking/backpacking trip to Washington in the San Jaun Islands and North Cascades in June. I'm super stoked for this life changing experience and hoping to learn a lot and meet some super cool people. If there is anyone on here that has done an outward bound trip, I'm just wondering if I could get your take on it? How physically and mentally daunting is this trip for someone who is in pretty good shape? How are the people and how is the overall experience?
I haven't done one, but from what family members and friends who have gone on outward bound trips have said, it isn't that hard at all, but very fun and rewarding. hopefully you'll have a similar experience, it's a great program.
I did an outward bound course during high school and recently did a NOLS course and I'd say OB isn't too physically demanding. Have fun, learn something about yourself, and take the leadership opportunities they give you.
