Replying to Looking for New Skis
Hello my name is Dominic,
I wanted to get the opinion of the Newschoolers community on what skis you think might be best for me. I am 21 years old, 5'9", 145lbs, I have been skiing for 10 years and I ski at a 3+ level. I ski at Mt. Hood Meadows and have only skied on stiff full wood core park skis that were never over 90 under foot. After finally demoing a pair of Salomon Rocker2 108s earlier this season I was amazed by the way I could charge through off-piste conditions on a tracked powder day, since then I've been looking for a fatter ski that will work in almost all conditions. I'm assuming this will be a exspensive set up most likely considering I want something that has touring capability, to powder, to cliffs, to park(least important of all I have the Salomon NFX for park days). I know I will keep these skis for years to come, I might get a deal on my skis or bindings as a ski instructor so my budget isn't too important. I also was wondering if anyone has a reccomendation for nice AT bindings! The 108 I rode was really fun but I am unsure if I would want a ski that wide for all types of conditions, I am pretty sure I want my underfoot closer to 100 but no lower than 98. I liked the rocker style and loved the way it dampened all off-piste crud. I am open for any reccomendations on any skis or bindings!
Thanks for your time,
Dom
