FrenchFryHaha of course you can man. What a stupid fucking question.
*OP gives his two weeks, comes into work the next day and slaps boss, then tells boss he gave his two weeks therefore rules do not apply to him* Shut up man.
CabbyArrantThey might not fire you but might say you are not rehirable which can be just as bad
Phil-X-Putting in your 2 weeks is generally just something you do in order to help out your employer (they can start looking/training a new hire, begin the employee termination process) Youre never required to give them a 2 weeks notice (unless its in terms of employment)
So really, they just made it harder on themselves. Enjoy it, you were leaving anyway.
BortyFor the record I would never be coming back here and though it's worth noting that any good reference is a plus, I honestly do t in any way need them as a reference so I don't care.
But I hear ya
Bortythe other was gore mtn and if you google their park youll understand how laughable that place was.
CabbyArrantWell at least where I live prospective employers are only allowed to ask two questions about you to former employers. When you worked there and whether you are rehirable.
ben_collinsthat park is a lot better than some others such as Blue Hills.
Google it
DANETRONNY is at will. You can be terminated at any time for any reason so long as it's a legal one.
Ming, what staff lol
MinggThe theoretical staff that no longer exists hahahahaha. But seeing as there is no one else, I don't think they would fire him hahaha
DANETRONHe sent me a text saying he was meeting with the owner this morning. No response yet so the only logical conclusion is to assume he's locked in a dungeon. That's about on par with how this place works
theBearJewAbsofuckinglutely.
Let me tell you all a story about how my shithead boss stole $3,500 dollars from me when I did the right thing and put in my two weeks.
A few years back I had an incredible opportunity to travel for 2 months across a few countries but it meant quitting my job to do so. The first 2 weeks were an organized trip so I couldn't move dates around for the first leg. I had a weeks worth of vacation which I was taking for the first week and then after that would be the end of my employment with him. This was a small company, I was actually his first employee. We were friends prior to me working there, not so much after.
I worked as a recruiter so to get paid my bonuses the person you placed had to stay for the guarantee period, usually 90-120 days after their first day. The Friday before I left for my trip was the end of two of my hires guarantee period. If I put in my two weeks, worked em, Id be employed for that date and get my bonus of $3,500. I figured if I gave notice Id still get a good letter of recommendation rather than leaving for my trip and quitting via e-mail while I was abroad.
It was a Friday, bout an hour before closing time, 1 week before my trip and 1 week before the guarantee period was up. I gave in my two weeks that day, he was a bit surprised but understood. We discussed finding a new person and the details of my resignation, I went back to work then left for the day, thinking I'd be in on Monday again. He called me before I even got home, my commute was about 10 minutes, and let me know I had just worked my last day and I could get my stuff Monday. I asked about my bonus, he said I wouldn't get them.
We then spent the next week going back and forth with a few letters from lawyers. In the end I got fucked for doing the right thing and lost out on $3,500.
tldr, I put in my two weeks, had bonuses due if I worked during those two weeks, he fired me that day and wouldn't pay my bonuses.
PeppermillRenoThat is super grimey.
But if you saw this coming and could have averted it by quitting abroad its your fault for trying to 'do the right thing' instead of protecting your neck. He clearly viewed your 3500 bonus as his consolation to losing out on a good employee.
