So I made a thread at one point because people were sending me gofundme links and I was roasting them. Eventually I got banned from the website..
I don't remember what the thread was called. Anyway a friend started sending me stuff again and apparently I'm no longer banned.
Also thinking of making a website called "Go Fund Yourself" and just telling people to fuck off because it makes me feel good inside when I crush somebody's entitlement based dreams.
I should probably find a new hobby, but nothing makes me feel as complete as this.

Hello,
I am Matthew Merrihew I recently just moved to Ridgway Colorado from Upstate New York. My Roomate Mark Ronchetti, Has recently moved to Ridgway colorado from Chicago. We both have decided to dedicate July to a trip across the United States.
We are planning on driving from Colorado. We will be taking the northern route to Montreal Canada. On this Route we will be stopping in Nebraska ,Iowa,Illinois,Indiana,Ohio,Pennsylvania,
New York, Vermont, Montreal. We plan on sight seeing and vistiting as much family as possible.
This campaign will fund our food and gas. We will be camping because we love the outdoors. None of these funds will be used for lodging. Keep in mind that this campaign is not our primary source of income for this trip. We both work very hard and work everyday. We are saving money around our tight budgets.
Any amount is grateful to us.
We have both always wanted to do a trip like this. It means the world to us. we truly thank you all.

I would say say pull out your dictionary and look up the word "entitlement" but it's likely you don't own one. On the plus you can pull out your iphone or laptop and do the same. If for some reason you don't own any of this technology don't worry, you can start a gofundme for that as well. When you say this isn't your primary source of income for the trip, I have to question that. Are you driving across the country in a car with 2 wheels, the back end dragging along the highway and a hole in the gas tank where 90% of your fuel will leak out? If that's the case I would recommend switching your go fund me to a cause that will help you buy a better car or at least some duct tape and new wheels. As far as food, what do you plan on eating? Are you only eating lobster 6 days a week and eating steak the 7th to save money? Are you buying every homeless person you encounter a meal? Gas is RIDICULOUSLY CHEAP at the moment. A road trip is easier to do now than it's ever been. With the current gas prices you could drive from NYC to LA and back TWICE in a car that only gets 18mpg(which is pretty bad) for around $1,000. So lets say you can't read a gps and get lost every 5 seconds and drive a few extra thousand miles. That still leaves easily $1,000 for food. So even if you're using more than 3 times the amount of gas you need, you still have a budget of around $17 EACH PER DAY. If you can't live of less than that, you're pretty horrible at budgeting. And you mentioned this is not your primary funding for the trip. How much are you planning on spending? Are you planning on making it rain 100 dollar bills on everyone you encounter on this trip? I'm not suggesting you shouldn't take a road trip. I'm simply asking you to drop the sense of entitlement that seems to be burned into your tiny brains and pay for the trip yourselves. Good luck making it through life with such a warped concept of reality. Don't worry though, if you're ever behind on rent, your car needs work, or you need to buy groceries, you can always use websites like this to subsidize your life instead of learning concepts like working for and saving your money. PS: Go Fund Yourselves
Fuck dreams. I just want people to send me more of these until I get banned again. The best part is you have to use your facebook name. People get butthurt, and gather all of their friends to send you hate messages, it's exhilarating.
It's the best of both words. Being mean to people on the internet, and crushing the dreams of the lazy and entitled.

In what way do you plan on helping people around the world? Simply posting instagram pictures of you in beautiful places isn't exactly going to save the planet. It's nice to see that your budget for the trip went right up to 30k. I mean hell, why stop there? Why not ask for 30 mil? Actually in today's uncertain economy I feel like you're better off going for 30 trillion. You never know when you're going to need it. What if you don't like the accommodations where you're traveling? Wouldn't it be nice to have the option to buy a house in those countries of better yet, buy the whole country? Why stop at seeing the world when you can own it? I can already tell you have a strong drive and work ethic. I can't think of a better person to run part of the world. I was lucky enough to come across a nigerian prince in my travels. Once I inherit his fortune I plan on not only funding the trip you're asking for, but giving you a few extra million toward my vision for you to one day rule the world. Don't worry about college, that's a waste of time. As long as you have the internet and gofundme, you'll never need to work a day in your life. It would be a shame to squander such a beautiful soul with actual work when you should be free to grace the troubled peoples of the earth with your presence. Good luck, and may god be with you! Yeah, I felt the wind die right out of my sails as soon as I thought about people asking for it. I'd rather swoop in and ruin their ridiculous dreams.
The worst part about it is that these people have no idea that what they're doing isn't 100% legit. "Like omg really? You're telling me I should crowfund every expense I have for the rest of my life?" "The universe doesn't owe me a 30 thousand dollar vacation to see the world?" "No way!?!??!?!?"
Maybe next time. I really wanted them to reply. I'd like to hear how 2k isn't their primary budget and how they plan to spend 2k on just food and gas in under a month while gas is insanely cheap.

Hello all!
Two best friends of 12 years who have been seperated by obligations; Ravin, a freshman in college pursuing a teaching degree and Kayla who is working to support herself. Since their youth they have both sought out knowledge and have wanted to travel to experience other cultures and to learn about the world. Now that they are 18 and officially adults, they can finally learn all that they can in the world. Their first stop, Japan.
Japan, between both girls has been talked about extensively since their youth and has been one of the top places that they have been wanting to visit together. Both Kayla and Ravin are planning a two week trip to Japan to learn via adventuring. The money raised will go towards: hotel, flight, JR passes, food, and a bit of spending money. They are breaking this down into a three part purchase. In July of 2016, they will be purchasing their plane tickets and booking their hotel for mid March 2017 (dates to be announced). January 2017, they will purchase their two week JR passes. And then finally, the rest of what was raised will be put towards food, drink, and a bit of tourist activities as well as cultural excursions.
Even the littlest bit helps, and we are so thankful for anyone and everyone who is able to donate to our dream trip to Japan! Thank you for taking the time to check out our little blurb! We will be doing updates closer to each purchase time to let everyone know of our progress. Thanks again, this all means so much!
Ever hear of a job? Try getting one. If you're going to beg for handouts, at least have the balls to do it in person. If you want to learn about the world, learn how to budget, learn how to save, learn how to work for your money, learn how to travel on the cheap. You aren't trying to learn anything. Hell, why stop there, do you have any idea how much more exciting your life would be if you had a nice 3 or 4 $mil lake house? I mean how cool would that be right? It's great that you're showing your kids great lessons like hard work, oh wait. Don't worry kids, you can always leach off of other peoples kindness and wait for the world to buy you things. You shouldn't have to work for it, you're already entitled to it. Seems like a good starting point. Let me know if I can help you with anything else in the future, your rent, buying a new car, getting your nails done, or anything else you need. Don't worry about it. You should have to work for it. Me and the rest of the world will pick up your tab.

Also there was one a friend shared with me a bit ago. A guy totalled his car driving wasted. Left the scene, then started a go fund me to get a new car.
I didn't even get to pop the cherry, there were like 4 good roasts there so I left it at that.

When I was on the AT someone mentioned that they were completed funded by there coworkers and a gofundme account. An older woman overheard and destroyed her.
" Well I have terminal cancer and this is my 8 year old son next to me. Besides my love of hiking, i planned this trip so my child could have a great memory of me to take with him when im gone, but your telling me that I could have posted this on some website and had other people pay it for me?"
She responds "yeah I'm sure with your cancer and all, you would have gotten all of your costs paid for."

the absolute worst go fund me pages i have seen where on car pages. kids post up like hey help me buy new wheels for my car or hey i need to build my motor only like 10k please and thank you :) P.S i work hard.

The whole point of a comment section on a site like that is to voice one's opinion on a fundraiser. Rusty can post his opinions, and if somebody doesn't like them they don't have to listen.
There's definitely a line. Fuck you if you think other people should pay for your fun or something that you are physically able to earn yourself.
However, some situations are different. I know a few people that made the US team for the downhill mountain bike world championship. That race is a big fucking deal, and you don't just not go if you are picked to go. The problem is, the trip totals to over $4 grand and USA Cycling (being the assholes they are even charge a $1000 "team" fee) don't help with a cent of it. So, without being able to fund it themselves, they made campaigns like this. While I would never ask people for money so I can race my bike out of humility and the principle of that concept itself, I think it's acceptable.
Of course my example is for a specific event. Not to fund the entire season so they could focus on training or whatever bullshit (cough Matt Margetts cough)
