Why is it called Newschoolers?

So like this site has been online for more than 15 years. My dad told me about that time there were some people around that time who started skiing this new way which is why it was called newschooling. And that is where the site came from. My dad was into it then so that's why he knows. But he's old as fuck now. So shouldn't this site be changed to Oldschoolers or Skiingsite or something like that?

Yeah, fuck the name "Newschoolers" I think we should really change the name to Skiingsite, its much more original and sounds better IMO

The proper term was Newschool Freestyle, to differentiate from Oldschool freestyle.

Newschool skiing was what we all called it back then, and it was much better than this stupid "Freeskiing" garbage that all the kids are using right now.

Really we should just call it Skiing. Site is going to stay newschoolers, because its rad as fuck.

But why? It is a huge hassle for a company to change its name because it has to change all of its branding and merchandise etc.. and there is no good reason to change the name in the first place.

Yeah but Gus K and Nick Geppor ride for the US Freekiing Team? I think that's like the offical term now. If it was new schooling team wouldn't they call it the US New schooling Team?

Maybe call the site Freeskiiers? Or Freeschoolers? Idk just a thought.

freeskiing has been around since the 60s/ 70s there was just a big style change with the new style of skis that came out in late 90s early 2000s along with the ability to preform new tricks. thus "newschoolers" riding twin tips etc doing more inversions and rotations grabs, rails vs "oldschool" 220 straight skis and pastel ski suits

I believe the original question was "why is it called newschoolers" I didn't pick the name of the site, I was just answering the question, monsieur. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't where the term Newschoolers/ newschooling came from? Indeed, it should all just be called skiing, but different terms have come to define different styles of skiing that have evolved over time
