Replying to Jskis AllPlay... nail in the coffin.
So I know we've all seen 1000x "reviews" on J skis. I feel most come from impulse right out of the box, so what I have done is skied 36 days till I have made this post.
First off, I skied one day on my first pair and had a lamination separation issue under the binding. I almost did not want to mention this because the way Jason handled this issue was the best in the business. Within 12 hours of the email, Jason called my phone while I was blazing with the boys. He was super apologetic and wanted to get to the root of the issue. He sent me a brand new pair of twigs within the week with a return to send the defective back fo free.
REVIEW:
As mentioned above I have around 36 days on these J's and feel the same way I did when I went first day with them. Absolutely in love. Super playful and extremely fun. Exactly what I was looking for in a ski. They are soft but I never feel as if I am going to flex through them. Huge rail guy, never really pushing them too hard on jumps over 45ft.
I've included a bunch of pics with this review of what my skis look like visually, at this time they perform exactly how they did the day out of the box. BY FAR THE BEST CARVING I'VE FELT ON A "PARK" SKI. Edge to edge response on a 96mm width ski is amazing. Smile hits me ear to ear every time my body locks into this Look14 & J allplay combo.
ISSUES:
On my dominate foot (right) they're are three small edge cracks on my peddling edge. I don't in any way blame construction for this issue, just comes with the territory of disaster-ing rails.
Besides the skis another issue i've encountered with my bindings (images included) the base of my non-dominate foot (left) has cracked, compromising the brake a little but nothing un-useable.
CONCLUSION:
9/10 overall
10/10 in customer satisfaction
8/10 construction (no company can make an indestructible ski for $$$ reasons)
10/10 on playfullness
Would I recommend? Yes. To everyone and their fathers, Jason is making IMO the best skis offered to the market. The "microbrew" formula he is using is the only thing that is pushing our sport past the "wall st." owned company formula. It was extremely refreshing to be in contact with someone who is in love with this industry the way we are.
