Where to start for flashes/strobes?

Advice on gear. Any tutorials to read to get the most of it etc.

Speedlights + Yongnuo triggers is good if you're on the cheap.
Vivitar 285hv is a good start.

There's a big thread somewhere with lots of good info, I'll try and find it.
