People finally waking up and realizing it's profitable only for the few. When that happens, i'll form an independent comune at the base of a mountain with promises of powder days and superparks.
This newest generation of brainwashed morons (As a whole) especially the Bernie Sander's supporter types. Want to see where democratic socialist systems work? Look at france, puerto rico, s.america countries...IT DOESN'T.
The argument that it could work in the US because we are so wealth is just false. The US is much bigger than any country who uses it. Not to mention...the wealthy will protect their money I guarantee it they will not take a increased tax or pay cut. Plus not to mention this whole vandetta towards "evil" wall street. Guess what...we will just continue to raise fee's which ultimately will fleece the middle class even more. The 1% won't feel a major impact as usual.
Who will pay for free college tuition? You and me the hard working people and tax payers of america. I already paid $40,000 of MY OWN money to pay off my college. I worked every possible free moment I had during college, didn't party much, and studied as much as I could. I don't feel like going into perpetual debt to pay for those who are lazy and don't wannt to pay for themselves.

Good for you. How much did your parents help you? Don't fucking lie either.

ITS PAID BY TAXES. ITS NOT FREE
HOLY SHIT YOU PEOPLE ARE THICK
I'm sorry but this is BY FAR the worst argument. You aren't going into perpetual debt, wtf?! Do you not know what debt is. The government isn't going to tax you into debt....
STOP TRYING TO EXPECT EVERYONE TO DO EXACTLY WHAT YOU DID. JUST STOP.
THEPROPHETGood for you. How much did your parents help you? Don't fucking lie either.
My parents paid for ZERO. My dad passeda way when I was young and my mom worked 3 jobs to support us. I owed $45,000 when I graduated.
Had two summer internships at some banks that paid $10,000 and $15,000 each. Put that all towards loans. And got a solid job out of school that let me be debt free within 2 years of graduating.
So yea buddy...I had ZERO HELP. Can't stand people who question me and think im some liar. I worked my ass off to do it. I partied once a week. Had a tight budget I lived on and if I couldn't afford something...whether it be a night out, clothes, etc I didnt do it. I made the sacrifice which most kids wouldn't ever consider doing. Hell...the fail rate in my calc class was like 45%...and the vast majority of those kids didn't even work.

KravtZMy parents paid for ZERO. My dad passeda way when I was young and my mom worked 3 jobs to support us. I owed $45,000 when I graduated. 3 JOBS?!? Wow why didn't she just get 1 good paying job? I'm sure your father had a life insurance plan so I bet that made things easier. What about your living expenses? Rent? Did you go to a state college? What degree did you pursue? How were you able to do so well and still work as much as you say you did? how did you afford a car? How did you get loans for school? Are you white? What tax bracket is your family in? Are you from a rich populated white area or the middle of nowhere?

I'm sure you are exaggerating immensely Hell...the fail rate in my calc class was like 45%...and the vast majority of those kids didn't even work. proud of yourself?
Its seems to me that your situation would have DRASTICALLY improved had you not had to foot $45,000 for school
I wouldn't say I grew up in dire poverty...but I didn't have much. Lived in a one bedroom apartment with my entire family. Paid for everything I owned. Only reason I was able to ski was due to some very very good friends of mine who were wealthy
THEPROPHETIts seems to me that your situation would have DRASTICALLY improved had you not had to foot $45,000 for school
point is...I don't need to get into my personal life here. I paid my own way through college. I don't really care about other people. If they can't afford it its not my problem.
KravtZI wouldn't say I grew up in dire poverty... Well some people do and you have to admit that you don't know what it's like and shouldn't immediately pass judgement on someone else just because you were able to do something. but I didn't have much. You should maybe be more specific. Lived in a one bedroom apartment with my entire family. Paid for everything I ob wned. I'm glad you didn't steal it. Only reason I was able to ski was due to some very very good friends of mine who were wealthy
I though you said you had ZERO help?
How do you not care that our government needlessly spends trillions on war and simultaneously says they cant afford to give their people an education.
If we start taxing the 1% or whoever you want to say is the wealthy, what do you think their reaction will be? Id argue, that they would leave, leave the United States. Why would they stay? So they can work the same level of effort but get less or work harder and still get fucked by taxes? I think theyd find a way to leave and have a better life in another country.
When they leave, then who will pay? People who have worked hard their entire life are not just going to sit idle and foot the bill for people who think they're entitled to someone elses money.
Do some people need it, of course. Can many benfit from it, absolutely. But if we remove the inventive for people to get to that next level of success because they can work half as hard and make the same amount this country will go to shit.
Guess what, if that's the case, we the people don't give a shit if you have to pay more taxes.
See how that works?
Joke is on you man. As someone who makes a 1% income for my age group...I DONT CARE about other people. I can tell you this...the rich are very very smart. The media loves to demonize them. But I guarantee you if Bernie Sanders raises taxes to so abdominal level to pay for his free handouts they will start moving/hiding money. Its happened in the past and will happen again.

typical capitalist retard. you can't use just your case and claim everyone can do it. its not "free" college. Its allocating tax money to actually benefit the people.

The government wastes an insane amount of money. How about they cut back spending, cut back foreign aid, and stop wasting money on the countless dumb things they do (50M gas station in Iraq for example).
Or we can look at the source of the problem....the GOVERNMENT. They guarantee colleges the money regardless...of coruse they will raise tuition

agreed. the funny part is all the bernie fans think that's the solution to all of our problems. just tax the top 1% and it will pay out all of his proposed plans. What complete idiots. Even if you took 100% of that top 1%'s money it wouldn't come close to pay out for the rest. In a country where people are already feeding off entitlement, they demand more. quite sad really.

the source of the problem is capitalism. it is inherently unfair and rigged to benefit the rich. How about instead of giving mega-corporations huge subsidies and bailing out wall street, we use that money for healthcare and college? maybe instead of spending more on the military than the next 9 nations combined, we use that for something useful? I agree, these are a waste of money.
capitalism is what's made america great. long live capitalism long live free enterprise long live the ability to prosper and succeed at your own rate.
oh no no, if we all can't be rich then we must succeed at rate the government allows us to. just let the government control our money, our jobs, our health and education hell let the government control everything about our lives. let's just work for a union that way everyone makes the same. let's just give them our guns as well because we don't need them the government is there to protect us. hahahaha fucking libs living in fairy tale land.

CAPITALISM
liberal- sees it as unfair and rigged to benefit the rich
republican- sees it as an opportunity for anyone with the right mind and skill set to succeed
private industry, free enterprise. or just give all the money to the government and let them wipe your ass for you. hmmmmmm
I cant take you seriously when your name is Nikolaus and you keep talking about "The evils of capitalism". I read all your posts in a thick russian accent.
to attempt to stay on topic instead of fall into the trap of the socialism discussion haha i think that capitalism is here to stay in our world economy. it is so deeply embedded in the culture. capitalism is an economy driven via private business owners seeking personal revenue. Personally I believe that worldwide (even statewide) the human population is too different from one another to be able to function and flow via state/federal regulated industry.

Given that capitalism has existed during a relatively short time, of accelerated social disconnect from our life sources, within human history I think it will inevitably subside. Places that have rejected this system have done so out of need and motivated by discomfort and other environmental factors. Currently the comforts afforded in the West are too great to get people to act in meaningful ways against capitalism, but as stability falters I think we will see an appropriate response. Alternative systems clearly pose a threat as seen in the anti-communist/anti-progressive initiative (i.e. monument to the victims of communism statue in Ottawa) Things like distrust in the government/system are all stigmatized to discourage critical dialogue. Keep it up, everything changes and this trainwreck is gonna beg for some before ya know it :p #stopline9 #accountability #responsibility
p.s. that reminds me, whoever says capitalism is fair.. consider the extent of environmental recovery/rehabilitation after purposeful or accidental degradation by extractive activities... you think all the cost and benefits all work out equal but I think it's obvious that companies are not held to the full cost of their actions, wether it be pipeline spills or climate change, the public, the world is suffering the costs while being made to pay a premium for natural services ... bleh... blep... #dailyblep

thats an awesome point I guess in the grand perspective of things, captialism truly hasn't been around for all that long
Probably in the not so distant future, automation and AI will destroy free market capitalism from a practicality stand point. It will be impossible to keep a large enough portion of the population employed with AI doing most jobs for us. At some point, redistribution of wealth to some extent will be necessary, or the world will be overrun with destitute poor people.
Basically, a completely new economic system is going to have to be invented out of necessity.
Nothing like the tribe of "ZOMG fuck the capitalisms and down with them corporations like bruh" morons.
The best is when it's people that aren't even old enough to drive a car. Same shit as Obama etc. It's the cool thing to do. That said it's all bullshit, and we're fucked anyways.
One thing that people fail to factor in. Our government wastes a fuck ton of money. We never or at least rarely scale back programs or get rid of wasteful sectors. It's all about pumping more money in, raising taxes, wasting more money, and growing government.
So please tell me how the government has such an epic track record where we should give it more power, more money and assume that everything will come out perfect?
I mean, most of the people on the Bernie wagon voted for or would have voted for Obama if they were old enough. Who was it that authorized the bailouts? I'm not saying the reps aren't completely fucked as well, just arguing that most of these people are idiots.
Our elections are like a fucking circle jerk. Everyone gets all stoked about some idiot making bullshit promises, puts bumper stickers on their cars, unrealistic ideas in their head, and every 4 years we do the same shit.
Our government is fucked, the world is fucked, we're all fucked.
At least on a normal year we'd have some snow to cling to. Now they took that away. While distracting you about gun laws you never even noticed the anti snow bills being slipped through.
Nest they'll take away our beer and we'll have nothing left.
First they came for our snow and I didn't speak out because I hate snow and should move to florida but I live in the northeast because I'm dumb, then they came for our beer but I didn't speak out because I'm a pussy and think that alcohol is the devil even though jesus drank wine and I'm probably just a pussy, then they came for me and there was nobody left because without snow and alcohol we are nothing. - Martin Niemöller

An interesting response for sure! How i dearly wish I could lay my trust in the government.
I hope that you're up to date with what's been going on with the pow alliance? (among other public outcry). And the federal coal leasing of our own public land? The powder river basin ever heard of it? Feel free to indulge https://vimeo.com/153984135 it's sad because private companies are profiting off of public land, which our own government has leased to them. Oh I see you're from canada so you might not be aware, yet somehow the canadians always have the answers? haha
socialism could work if america (pop.389million) had a manageable population like denmark (pop.6million) or other socialist countries. you see socialism works like a group project, if everyone plays their part. have you ever been forced to do a group project at school? has everyone played their part? thought so. America is a beast of it's own and there's a reason why capitalism has been around since DAY ONE.

two types of people in this world.
The idea of capitalism works great. Free market, free economy, best way to allocate resources, blah blah blah.
But when 91% of all new wealth goes to the top 1%, that is not capitalism, that is a rigged economy where the super rich can influence politicians to ensure that the legislation benefits them. What about in the 70's a ceo made 30times what their employees made, now they make 300 times what their employees make. Do you really think a politician is going to want to help you when their pockets are stuffed with money from the rich? You see this with republicans denying climate change, why? Could it have to do with the 62 million oil companies have given republican hopefuls this year? Or what about the TPP which if you're a normal person, you should absolutely despise. Is it really capitalism when 50 million Americans live in poverty? The invisible hand is working great aye Adam Smith???
Yes not everyone is going to be rich, but this current wealth inequality is not sustainable at all. The last time America has wealth inequality this bad was just before the great depression.
Watch this video and tell me if you think this is really what capitalism is meant to be? Capitalism was great prior to trickle down economics.
when everyone gets on a high enough level of thinking to realize were all 'capable' of pretty much the exact same things/realize were on this planet together
