Northwest everyday ski?

To start excuse me if I am missing anything as this is my first post here on NS.
I am just starting my move up into adult skis from kids skis and am a bit overwhelmed by the options.

Where I ski:
The pacific northwest
- Alpental
- Stevens Pass
- Crystal Mtn.

What I currently have:
Sir Francis Bacon Shorty

What I'm looking for:
Playful charger
Something that can be used on short tours (looking to get into the world of ski touring)
-Will be skiing probably 70 percent in bounds, 25 percent sidecountry, 5 percent touring
All mountain powder ski


What I am looking at:
ON3P Kartel 116 (the apparent successor to the jeffrey)
Salomon Guardian 13

Any other suggestions on skis I should look at for what I want?

Playful charger is an oxymoron. That said, a Kartel 116 would fit the bill for what I think you want nicely. Going to be a good deal stiffer and more supportive in the heavy crap we get out here, but its still a very fun and playful ski. Not going to be a true charger like a Wren with its flatter tail, but still mobs.

116 seems a bit wide for an everyday ski, but thats just imo.

have you looked at the cochise?

Granted it is decently wide, I ride a 115mm underfoot all day everyday out here in Idaho

i ski southern BC/N. ID and i find a 108 perfect everyday. which is why i ski a cochise, the 193 is plenty burly and its stiff enough to knife through dense shit but the ski is a lot quicker and more predictable.

115 is just too much ski when conditions are firm or youre in technical terrain.

i ride akjj's every day and you would love them, obviously in a shorter size. playful when you want but they don't have a speed limit

So from the responses it seems like it is mostly a skiers opinion on whether a 108 or 115 is the right size for an everyday ski for what i'm skiing. Now I just need to find a demo day to check some skis out. Thanks for the responses!

115 underfoot is my go to ski any day. The past couple weeks conditions have been hard, and I love the extra support the wider ski gives when boosting to flats or just anywhere.

108 or 115, it doesnt really matter. Its what your comfortable with. I could ride my 125 gypsys any day (and i have) with no problem because thats just the way they feel to me. That being said, I have a pair of 172 SFBs (wish i got 178 or even 184) and love them for my everyday ski in Oregon. Park, pow, and everything in-between, whats better? If I was in your position, Id just buy a pair of skis and mount em up however you like and get another pair of touring specific skis. AT bindings are burly but not exactly meant for the 95% in-bounds skiing you are looking to do.

I dont know much about AT anything. My rich ass friend has a pair of Kingpins which are like 600 dollar AT bindings but thats all i know about them. When I hike out of bounds stuff, I just strap my skis to a backpack and start hiking or just sling them over my shoulder and go. You may not even need AT skis unless you are looking to go miles up to a desolate, resort less peak to ski down. Id just look into a light pair of skis that you can easily carry around, thats what i do
