Your best bet is Mammoth, about 6 hours. But for closer action, try Bear Mtn. and Snow Summit. They both have extensive parks. They're only like 2.5 hours if you drive like me. Have fun.

fuck bear mountain has like 100 kickers and 80 rails, its like every east coast ski center put together.

I don't know the east, just the ice... but you get a lot of spring type conditions (ice to slush)...if you want to ride off trail/ nonpark, then go to tahoe or mammoth. Bear and summit's parks are rad, they go off. I'll be there in feb.

I go to school in Malibu, which is about 3 hours north of sd. Mammoth is by far the best, but if you can't make the 6 hour plus drive, bear and summit will have to do. Bear is one big park, which means everybody is skiing in the park, the snow sucks (I grew up skiing and still ski tahoe). I've never skied the east coast, but i'd say they compare, slushier, not a whole lot of mountain.
