Board slide troubles

I have no idea what I'm doing, I try to do it all the time, at first I leaned on my back edges.
Second issue I face is not hitting the rail/box in the center and on top of that I got serious commitment issues and I fall off too early.

Are these issues normal for a beginner park skier?

Ok so it's not a boardslide first off... I'm assuming you mean a skier slide AKA slide, 90, etc.

I had these issues, and I still do somewhat, but all you have to do is just suck it up and commit. You will fall, and it will be all right. Get back up, and try it again. Repetition is your friend with rails. Just commit, slide repeat. You will get it eventually.

Yea you will fall harder if you dont commiy as well. Ive never landed a trick going into it without full commitment

make sure you're completely 90 degrees and adjust the jump so you'll land in center (like if ur landing on ur noses then remember that and adjust the takeoff accordingly the next time), and make sure you're looking at the end of the rail while you're on it

You're probably going on thinking it's gonna be like turning 90 on snow and stopping, which it isn't at all.

It's much more slippery, and you need to (once you've turned 90) pit more pressure on your front foot (downhill) than the back one. Also, go faster than you think you'll need to. It might sound scary, but it'll be a lot easier.

This a 100%. Once I l started to actually commit fully it's helped me catch on way faster then I thought I would, you are going to fall regardless

If you fall back- try to bend your knees more and stay low, lean your wait with the rail, whatever you do, DO NOT lean uphill.

If you slip off early: Just commit and start small and work your way up. Most importantly, speed is everything when trying to stay on a rail.

this, also, just look to the end of the rail and try to pedal if you start to slide or keep spinning once you're on there, especially at first, if you don't you'll keep slipping off early a good amount of the time.

commit to the full 90 turn and look at the end of the rail and once you get over the rail you'll stomp it ride away clean this is my first year of park and literally it's all about commitment once you stop committing you get wrecked

don't jump over the rail. go off the on-ramp basically parallel to the rail and literally turn your body 90 degrees.

lean into it, no matter how scary it is, and you won't fall back. watch the end of the rail, and DO NOT look down at your feet. also make sure you're actually jumping and turning 90 degrees in the air, not just sliding onto it. I hope you mean a railside on skis

90% of beginners fall backward by slipping out

lean way farther forward than you think you should, keep your feet shoulder width apart, and look at the end of the rail. and make sure your skis are completely perpendicular, 90* to the rail. that is, COMMIT
