Almost went crazy

Just spent the last 30 minutes loosing my mind in a dead quiet house because my ski kept making a little cracking noise. It came from under my fks toe piece so I'm curiousus if it has to do with the binding mount or the wood grains moving ever so slightly because of some weird pressure change (went from the mountains to sea level), the change in temperature, or change in moisture content. Anyone ever notice anything like this?
