Any 4x4 rig owners on here? Looking for some people to talk about wrenching on your vehicles and stories about offroading, carnage, and overlanding experiences!
Not sure if you got many of these over your way, or if this is what you would call a rig.
Had her for 6 years but don't drive her as often anymore, she's now my dedicated 'dive vehicle'. Gets me to all the best spots along the coast.

What do 4x4 do you drive?
yo that's sick. I've always wanted one of these. How is it as a daily driver?
Used to have a lifted 99' 4runner. It was awesome, but I do too much highway driving for it to be practical. It was pretty great, but I don't miss 300km per tank or gas.

that is one hell of a rig! there is very few around my area ( niagara falls Ontario) but there is a land rover restoration garage that has some bad ass trucks!!
the 4x4 ive got is a 2000 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L inline 6. 4 door auto, and its my Daily Driver.
i just added 2 rectangle halogen lights on the top of my bull bar( above the LED bar) so i have better driving lights at night compared to my stock candle lights lol.

that is wicked! i get 320-370km for 55L tank on my 2000 jeep cherokee.
MinggDid your jeep ever make it out of the shop?
hey now it did. longgggggg time but its been going great other than my shitty waterpump that failed twice lol...
Just got this on Saturday and I'm stoked. Haven't done much offroading in my life but I've always wanted to, especially for getting to fishing spots. Took her out yesterday for a little offroading and it was a blast. I've only had her 2 days and she's been on the beach and through waist deep mud puddles. I can't wait to see what I get up to when I get more used to it. You guys have any advice for a first timer? (other than changing the cringy wheels on it now lol)
OP that jeep is sick, looks like the front bumper would annihilate anything you hit!
whoa-dereyo that's sick. I've always wanted one of these. How is it as a daily driver?
You've got to have a passion or a need for it to use it as a daily driver because it is not comfortable at all. Terrible to drive if you live in the city. They don't like being driven fast either.
That said I would never sell it, my favourite vehicle ever. Anyone that buys one becomes instantly attached to it.
charmanderapparently instagram embed doesnt work, or im technially illiterate.

Im in the same boat as you, i havent done much offroading, there isnt much around where i live that isnt tresspassing lol and its not even worth doing because it just sucks unforturenately. But for tips, have tow straps, gloves, zip ties, first aid kit, socket/wrench set and a fire extinguisher. there are lots of forums that have lists of essentials for offroading! I'd change your rims lol kinda looks mall crawler.

taco replaced this:
which sorta replace this: although the gmc is in the middle of a rebuild
the blue truck is filthy, love it! i saw a ram charger last night and it was sweet.

ya lol unfortunately 2 weeks after i got the rust in the factory roof rails cleaned up and then the whole roof and back door re painted, i got rear ended... causing this

Yeah thats the first thing that I'm doing this spring. Just gotta wait it out a bit, I hate looking back at it and all I can think of is monster energy and scooter kids. Gonna replace them with something like this:
I've had a few TJ's that I like to play in the mud with. Switched to a corvette for a little fun in the summer, my truck still sees a hell of a lot of mud for work though.

Your Cherokee looks sweet btw, love the fenders.
Great choice of rims man, I have the exact same and I love them. I didn't buy the Centre caps though, not a fan of them and they are 7/8$ more a rim lol. The rims are nice because of the paint finish, snow doesn't get stuck in it and cause death wobble/ throw the tire out of proper rotation!
Thanks I am a huge fan of the fenders as well, they are bush whacker fender flares.

Tj's are cool, I can't picture myself getting one personally but they can be done up really slick! And nice! Corvettes are sweet, what year? And what kind of work truck do you have?
I_Am_ModOld jeep CJ7, got her from my dad, only use it for cruising in the summer and the occasional 4x4 event :)
Fuckkkk. In high school that was like everything I wanted right there. I wanted so bad to get a cj7 and fix it up and mob around. But then I went to college and had to pay bills and that just never happened. Your whip is sick as fuck though!

I'm curious as to the amount of cj7s in your area compared to my area, they are fairly rare here!

back in my hometown I know about 3 people with them. Beat to shit though but theres one that's super nice. If you go further into bumfuck nowhere there are a few more. Not super common by any means. Where I go to school, I have yet to see one. Fuck I've barely seen any modded jeeps up here tbh. I kind of miss being in the middle of bum fuck nowhere. So much more fun haha.

Hahaha that's so weird that that is how it goes, because the farther north in Ontario you go, the more you find "gem" jeeps. I have only seem like 3-4 modded cherokee around where I live. But a dozen bone stock ones around the same year as mine 90s-01. Funny seeing ones that looked like they just rolled off the lot.

yeah! I feel that. I wish I made more money to put into my jeep. She's pretty stock right now. I have a light bar, 33s(used to have 35s and then I got 4 fucking flat tires at the same time so that kinda sucked) and then a stage 2 afe intake. It's a 6 speed too so that's always fun! I only took it off road when I was living at home because we had some land but now I'm too far away. I miss that haha. Used to just take everything off and go for rip with the homies. Damn, it was so much fun haha.

Oh yeah! I remember you saying that the 35s was a no go lol. I love my light bar, it is incredible, and what kind of air i take/ snorkle? Or nah and its manual??
I can pretty much can only play around on my parents land (an orchard) the rest is trespassing on land that's not all that worth it. I'm still on the hunt for a place to bomb around on sneaky sneaky though hahaha.

WHISPERING PINES!!! Let's go there sometime haha. It's a little far away but it's like an actual off road park basically. They have a bunch of sick trails and it's not too expensive. Only thing is you have to be with like a crew to get in but if you have 2-3 jeeps/trucks capable of pulling each other out/ getting through the trails they're cool with it!

No way!! Where abouts is it? Only place I've heard of is roush Creek in Pennsylvania. I would kill to go to an offroad park
Pretty sure it was 94 to 98 they made em. Mine is the five speed as I will never drive auto. Mine is lifted 4 inches so they don't usually sit that high.
They are semi rare as far as toyotas go. I bought it because they were still made in japan while tacos of that year are made in the usa.
I have an 05 4runner and Im looking to get a lift and then some AT tires but not sure which suspension system to go with. Should I cash out and spend a lot or go the cheap route? Any preference from you guys?

My boss who has a 2010 tundra platinum and his son who has a 05-07ish tacoma. Both got a 3"(I think, could be 2") ready lift. They both are very pleased. I've heard ready lift is good for toyota.
As for tires, I just got used bfg at's romantic kijiji for a steal of a deal. I like them a lot. They are semi loud though hahaha

charmandermy 06 taco fits 33s with a 2" leveling kit, but it has the offroad package from the start so i think they might sit an inch or 2 taller anyway?
Sorry for dub post :$
I think you are right my coworker with the taco has 32s on 2" lift I believe and they fit with decent room so if you have the offroad package that would make sense for 33s
89 toyota SR5, 6" lift, on 33" tires, rolled it in the winter once, flipped it back over and drove it for another year before selling it for more than I bought it for

It's where a lot of the truck/jeep meets are held every year. My friends would go up like every weekend and they never really had a bad thing to say about it. I only went a few times before I got my own jeep but it was so sick, at least from what I remember haha.
Kissing Bridge(ski resort near Holiday) does KBmoto during the summer and they set up mud pits and do hill climbs and all of that! So it's pretty chill!

I have a F150 4x4, locking diff, blizzak snow tires, all that jazz.
Fiancee and I went to Utah for valentines weekend. Went into the San Rafael Swell--BLM land with really no rules. Also nobody within miles... Gf was like "what about snow" and I was like come on it's the desert! No way there's much snow....
Long story short, without 4X4 and those blizzaks I'm pretty sure we'd basically be dead. Snow was fucking gnarly in some areas and driving on those unimproved roads covered in snow with extremely steep grades at areas with a cliff off to one side...fuck. Then we were only 1.5 miles from the freeway and we encountered the last stretch of road to the freeway was all drifted in. We got stuck, got un stuck turned around and got out and went to SLC for the weekend. Life tastes so good
Some of it is definitely tailored to different terrain but it's still really informative. They have really good videos on YouTube as well under the channel name 'Ronny Dahl'.
Myself, I just drive a '97 Blazer for dirt road banging to bike trails right now. I love that thing to death but it is an absolute bitch to work on and maintain. It's very compact, and Chev engineered some really dumb shit into it. Starting to get tired of that aspect so I'm looking for a latest gen Wrangler Rubi to replace and retire my Blazer as a plough machine. I was searching really hard back in the fall but had one hell of a time getting any motivated sellers to move... I'll find something eventually.
Also wouldn't mind doing something even more long term. Not entirely sure what but it would either be a heavy duty pre-runner or a pretty dedicated crawler on like 40s.

Wheeling in Utah must have been a blast that sounds like you had an unreal time! Got any pictures of your trip?

I've always thought blazers were cool. I like the older ones like the k5 model though.
Check our a 84-01 jeep cherokee, I love mine!!
And a dedicated crawler would be so sick, my cousin is building a cj8 scrambler, on 41(i think)super swampers. The thing is wild, I want him to finish it
