New Trollin Video Sexist?

Just watched the new trollin video and it was awesome but I noticed that many of the jokes in their could be seen as offensive? I personally do not think they are but in this day in age with equality being everywhere (as it should be) some of these jokes could be seen as sexist. What do you guys think? Is it sexist or just making a funny video? Do the pro girls act like that in some ways or is that how all the guys out west think? Just looking to start a though provoking conversation. Discuss.

The whole video is a joke that he tried to do, and succeeded. It could be seen as sexist but it actually points out the problems in female sponsorships in a unique way.

Yea it was kinda sexist. Steve has a knack in imitating other people's styles and this time it was just the typical girl style. As soon as there was skiing I immediately recognized the girl style and their emphasis on it was sexist but still lowkey funny af.

It wasn't meant to be offensive. It will inevitably offend certain people, but it really just depends on your perspective. If you understand that it's just a joke and Steve's goal is to make fun of as many aspects of skiing as possible, then you probably won't get offended.

Equality doesn't mean women are untouchable just because they've historically been oppressed. Yes, oppression of women is problem on a grand scale, but equality means everyone gets treated the same regardless, and I feel as though it's different within the skiing community. Steve made fun of a number of different styles last season in one of his Trollin episodes. Technically these styles are unisex, but one could argue that they're generally performed by male skiers. So he made fun of male skiers and there was no issue with people getting offended--as far as I'm concerned, at least.

Additionally, if you want to look at the facts, a lot of the references in his video are accurate, and he didn't just make them up as jokes to add substance to his video, or to intentionally offend anyone. All the girls skipping the last jump was something that actually happened at the Mammoth Grand Prix this year, for example. As another example, Jen Hudak actually wrote a blog post announcing her retirement when she didn't really do much at all for the sport, and likely not very many people noticed or cared.

Yes, there are certain stereotypes throughout the video, but I don't believe they are in any way offensive. A lot of the mimicked styles are spot on, and there's no reason not to talk about it just because it's in reference to women. The idea isn't to oppress a group of people, it is to make everybody laugh.

Perhaps I'm biased, but I didn't find the video offensive in the least and it did just that--made me laugh, along with the handful of other girls I watched it with. The only one who got mad was someone who has no relation to the ski community at all whatsoever, has never skied a day in her life, and is so far removed from the context of the video that it was impossible for her to understand why it was just a joke.

Hopefully this clears things up for some people.
