Hovden in Norway forces you to hit a rainbow rail to enter the park
Literally the only semi-properly translated thing in the article:
"Lack of understanding of the sport"
The ski center set up innovation now before the winter holidays. A "Jerry" is also defined as "An individual who shows genuine lack of understanding of their sport, or for life in general."

We thought you might be interested in seeing our new park feature here at Holden, which doubles as the entrance for our advanced terrain park, Rodparken.
This is an idea that has been talked about between the terrain park crew for a few years, in an effort to keep inexperienced skiers and riders away from the dangers of the biggest jumps, and now that our Rodparken is bigger than ever, the park crew decided it was time to test out this bold idea.
Park shaper Richard Maxwell had this to say about the feature, after putting the final touches on it this morning "We're pretty stoked with the result, the feature is fun and safe, and with a choice of a rainbow rail, or an obvious step up jump to get over the fence, we think it's suitably intimidating, but also easily achievable for any riders who are ready to shred the advanced features we have in the red park. We've got a lot of awesome riders hitting the park here, and so far the response from them is very positive. We've tried warning signs, and we've tried extremely narrow or overlapping fence gap entryways, but some beginners are still exceptionally persistent at getting in. But when they can't ski down a landing, or they stop somewhere stupid, it puts both themselves and the park riders in real danger. The park this year is pretty massive, and with that we also had to try and step up the safety."
Designed by Richard Maxwell and the head of terrain park and slopes, Chris Christensen, the idea is supported by Ski Patrol and is already popular with the riders, with the feature gaining the nickname "the Jerrytrap", a reference to the popular hashtag and Facebook page #jerryoftheday (which features beginner skiers and snowboarders failing).
Safety on the mountain is always a priority, so we're excited to see if the idea works. Richard cheekily said that he can "always make it bigger" if it doesn't!

haha, and still we have at least as many riders as all the "big" countries in all the contests... and add 5 million to the 37 you have the right number and not to mention all the idiots from visiting from Sweden and Denmark too..
this is such a great idea. Not only is it cool to gap fences, grind rails, and grind rails while going over fences but it keeps jerry out of the park too!
i wish this would be the norm for the large terrain park entrances across the world.
Kitzsteinhorn have been sporting something similar for some years now.. think they dubbed their variation "noobfilter" or something along those lines.. seems pretty efficient
I feel that a rainbow rail is a little extreme. An upbox would do the job because you actually need speed for it so gapers cant go like 2 mph. Some kids may actually want to learn in that park that simply can't or dont want to slide rails
TBH, if you can't do it, don't. It's that simple. I think it's awesome that there is finally a park that we can jam out in without being interrupted by people who are not "that" good.There are many more easier parks out there.

There are also half of the gapers that go flying down the hill full speed and i don't think a simple up box will stop them from getting past that fence. There has to be some type of rail because if you want do anything off these massive feature then you should be able to hit a simple rail that's 10ft long.

Then again the big park at my home hill is pretty melo cause its in ohio. Biggest jump rn is like 20 ft

Yes in MN we dont have that big of jumps either, but that doesn't mean i wouldn't be able to hit those jumps or hit that rail, so idk what your point is.

im saying it shouldnt take a whole lot to get in but a melo feature that most kids cant do would eliminate 80% of the problem

if you can't hit the lip and go over then fence or hit that rainbow rail then you shouldnt be in this park. The resort was quoted in another thread about this saying that a lot of kids that were not very good can get in easily and every kid at my hill can hit mellow features unless they are on rentals and less than 5 years old and they barely hit the park.

Yeah, I've seen so many gapers get destroyed by that lol. The park crew is also changing it up every few weeks so the gaper virus won't adapt.
These are the only pictures I was able to find, this year they went a bit more creative tho.

Haha I can recall those filters and their "impact" on gapers from the past two easter holidays I spent there.. Really bummed I wont be visiting kitzsteinhorn this year.. park looks hotter than ever!

Yeah this year's setup is amazing! Too bad the chair is the same old slow 2 seater.
