patagonialukeThere are a couple options in the market now or coming out soon. Alpine Trekkers have been around for a little while and are definitely in need of improvement due to weight and lack of torsional rigidity. The Daymakers are supposedly coming out soon and will be an improvement on the Alpine Trekker design. Kitten Factory is coming out with an insert for FKS/Pivots that uses a dynafit-style toepiece to allow for touring, and its solid carbon fiber so hella light and rigid, should be sweet. CAST touring makes plates that you can attach to alpine bindings and then swap the toe piece with a dynafit toe so you can go up with the dynafit and down with alpine toe piece. The touring conversion market is one that I think we'll see a lot of advancement in the next few years/already are.
shin-bangI'm pumped for the KF insert. I know you can take normal alpine boots, drill holes in the toe, epoxy the inserts in, and boom you have an alpine boot with a tech toe. im jusr wondering how expensive it will be.
