Replying to Canon 10-18 or Tokina 12-24?

So lately I have really been wanting to buy a wide angle lens to use with my Canon Rebel T3i for mainly taking pictures ( and a little filming). I have narrowed it down to the Tokina 12-24mm f/4.0 and the Canon 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6. I have the option to buy the Tokina for $175 on the web, used and in good condition. I also have the option of buying the Canon from a friend, and he only used it a handful of times. Who has experience with these lenses? I'd love to hear some feedback for both before I go buying.
