Opinions on using 4 year old FKS 14's on some new boards? I could really use the savings of not springing for new bindings. I have ridden them pretty hard in park and all mountain, but by visual inspection I can only find cosmetic damage.
you should test them but yeah theyre most likely fine, tons of people use old pivots, 916s, etc. my pivots are 14 years old. not much has changed functionally
Likely fine, though some new grease in the toe and heel isnt a bad idea, specially if you hit urban or carry them on top of your car where salt can eat it away. I almost exclusively ski on old rebuilt turntable bindings (FKS) cause they rarely break and last forever.
look at is this way. If the break you will most likely replace with another pair of fks or pivots so at least the mounting holes will match up. Ride the old.
