Backyard Blizzard Snowmaker

This is an original Backyard Blizzard Home Snowmaker. This is the real deal, designed and built by the folks at HKD, one of the leading manufacturers of snowmaking systems in the world. Spare parts still available from HKD. Depending on the temperature and humidity this unit will make 30 to 50 cubic feet of snow per hour. The base unit contains an Emglo compressor and a large air tank. The 10 foot aluminum boom has 2 water nozzles and 1 external mix air/water nucleation nozzle (see pictures). The unit has been modified over the years to allow the use of an external high pressure water pump. This makes it easy to move your water pump inside after use, to prevent it from freezing. It also makes start up with a warm pump much easier. Included in the sale is a 1.5 gallon per minute Stanley electric pressure washer. The Stanley pump works great with the snowmaker, but any 1.5 to 2.5 Gallon per minute pressure washer will work well, either gas powered or electric. The boom can be easily removed from the unit, and you can use standard air compressor hose to connect from the base unit to wherever you locate the boom. You can use standard pressure washer hose with quick-connects to connect the boom to your pressure washer pump. To run the system you will need a garden hose and you will need access to a 20 amp circuit for the Air compressor. If you use the electric pressure washer pump you will need access to a separate 15 amp circuit (if you use a gas powered pressure washer pump then just the single circuit is needed). Also included is a spare working electric motor that can drive an on-board pressure washer pump if you wanted to go back to the original design (modelAR2G15, about $300 new). This unit was $3500 new, so is priced for a quick sale at $750.
