All of these edits were fucking insane. So stoked X-Games finally shines some light on non-competetion skiers, everyone killed it in the streets
Ahmet takes it for me, but Will's switch shifty disaster underslide made me squirt the hardest. What do you guys think?

[MOD Takeover!]
Watch all the edits here and vote in the unofficial NS Poll:
Still completely freaking out over these... but here are my thoughts.
All of those were FUCKED. Period. Every single one.
But could anyone name the stuff Will was doing? That could have been a game changer for the judges... i don't know. Either way street skiing has a lot to do with personal preference of those judging...
I personally have watched Ahmet and JF's MULTIPLE TIMES EACH... mind blown.
Clayton's segment had me in actual shock in class after that disaster on the DFD. Then followed by the backflip my jaw was dropped for a solid 3 minutes just trying to comprehend what I had watched. He took the W in my books, but all of these segments were nuts.
I love picturing some of these "big features" in a park or big mountain setting, crazy to think some of the better built ones are smaller yet better built than my home mountains jumps. "Urban" skiing in 2016. Who can build the biggest jump vs finding actual creative ways to utilize man made objects to ski on. I vote innovation!
that said if i had to... Will first, Clayton second, who the fuck knows for third. They could all be third. but will stood out as much as anyone could with this stacked of a field. I'm usually not a fan of will wessons skiing, but something about his was so next level.
Holy shit!!! This is by far the most insane urban skiing I've watched in 90 secs. I would hate to judge this. I'd have to go wally, wesson and Ahmet on this one but everyone of them is nuts.
All of these parts were so gnarly, cant believe it. Clayton and JF have my pick on this one but man every part had me trippin! So stoked to see Urban skiing progressing! WOO!
Although they all were super sick and I would say they all won, I voted for Clayton. His part was too insane and one of the handrails in the vid was at my old elementary school.
Right when I decide on a winner in my mind I think of the next guy who went even harder and my mind is stuck in a continuous loop.
Highlights in my book were;
Will - because holy fuck what is going on
Vila & JF - Massive rails, massive airs
Ahmet - THAT FUCKING BRITNEY ON THE GAP RAIL
Wallisch - Rail god, as always
All honesty, I think JF Houle's gonna get my vote, dude had an amazing season and can't wait to see what he does next.
Tom just makes everything look so smooth. the guy still has that mid trick afterbanging thing going on that made/makes him so ahead of the game. Also i really, really enjoy his tail taps. Just really, really visually pleasing to watch... kinda like Sage and big mtn skiing for me, i want to ski like tom.
But Will had quite a few shots that made me audibly go "damn". Creative, big, and tech. I dont see how it doesnt win. that was some crazy cool skiing.
Clayton went fucking huge, and got down on some super gnarly setups. In terms of consequences and size, he wins, hands down. I loved watching that seg, but the otherr two stroke my snake a little better,
the other segs were great and wouold be banger standouts in any film on the planet, but they didnt strike my fancy quite the way the above three did.
Claim: got the word that wallisch was in south Dakota and got to help the whole good company crew set up the massive rainbow at the end of Toms edit. Wallisch gets my vote, good company is so chill
honestly whatever suits the rider. like for ahmet or tom it would be some gangster rap, for will some funky beat maybe some metal or rock for clayton and cam.
Cams segmant was crazy, but for some reason I think he didnt go as big as he usally does, but his segment was still cray cray as well as everybody elses
Not a lot of hype from cam's which surprises me because I'm the Ender was the heaviest kink impact skiing has ever seen. That rail claims lived when people try to hit it normally. Then again, it's cam, what are we going to do to stop him from hitting a rail that most of use would to too scared to walk by.
Yes. Seriously. That was the one trick that stood out above all overs for me personally. So fucked.
All the edits were insane though. Had to watch them all through three times before voting, with intentions of voting for different people on different days.
Will gets my vote, but all these guys are sending it.
Clayton is going what would be considered huge in the back country, but instead of landing in pow he is landing on 5 cm of snow on top of concrete. doesnt make sense.
Can we also just look at the fact that they are all almost 30 years old except for Clayton, that these guys are going this hard at 27-29, So much props to them to continue throwing down on their knees
Will gets my vote cuz i thought he had some really unique tricks but got damn they all sent it. Super stoked that is now a thing. Hands down the best shit ive seen out of xgames this year
I liked clayton and tom's the best. But polar opposite edits. Clayton was all just massive features. Tom mind blowing technical 2's on to 5 kinks like always lol.
Everything Clayton did was stuff that you shouldn't even try, Tom did stuff you shouldn't be able to do, and JF was just insane. Way to hard to decide.
Hornbeckyour a fucking idiot man. why dont you say something about the skiing not the look.
When half the shots are goon lifestyle fake hoodrat standing in front of brick walls, then yes, I would say that detracts from the skiing.
Will Wesson - by far the most creative.
Wally/Clayton - I'm split, both equally as gnarly.
Tough to say, but I gotta give it to to Wesson. Overall, I'd say his part was the most entertaining to watch and the level of tech wizardry was unrivaled.
I thought Ahmet's was baller. Tom and Will tied for me, both so good. JF the last trick was the one thing that stood out for me. Cam and Clayton were both sick, but felt like I was watching a stept movie. Although Clayton send it hard
Obviously everyone's a winner here, but as far as having a good variety and raw style of edit/ feel to it, Clayton takes gold.
Clayton's edit kept things relatively simple and balanced.
- Switch 5 off a parking garage
- Massive backflip
- Lipslide fence-gap to massive DFD
- Lip 4 on one of the most classic spots in the game
- Absolutely massive disaster on also one of the most classic long DFD's in urban skiing/ snowboarding
Sure Wallisch's ender is cool but take a second and look at the lip they built for that feature, that's just plain retarded. It's badass, but its doesn't have the simple raw feel to it that the majority of Clayton's shots had.
Here's an example of the big difference I see, Clayton's ender was one of the most timeless tricks in skiing on a natural speed feature.. Wallisch's ender was one of the most classic tricks in urban rail skiing on an absolutely unnatural feature that no-one will ever ever build again.
Clayton's edit looks more accessible and personally that's something I really value in skiing and life. Wallisch's ender is inspiring in the sense that no-one has ever looked at that feature and thought about skiing it.. it makes for an amazing picture but as far as a video shot, it's just like wtf, how many hours/ people did it take you to build that spot - go frontflip over an escalator or something. Obviously these absolutely ridiculous massive build spots is what the majority of real street (especially in snowboarding) has turned into, but it's harder for people to relate to than seeing an 80ft backflip in their backyard ;)
Natural speed is what "real" skiing/ snowboarding/ skateboarding's all about!
