Stiffness of Wall vs. Step vs. Kink

Obviously the Walls are the stiffest, but by how much? I have the '13-'14 kinks 2 years ago and last year got the '14-'15 steps, which i still have now but I will be replacing them next year with either next years wall or kink. I like the idea of a symmetrical ski, so that tells me to go with the '17 wall, but i like how playful the kink and step are...

any thoughts out there? thanks

I have no clue about this but I am thinking about either getting the ledge or the wall.

The ledge and step are both completely symetrical. I have the ledge and love the playfulness for ollies.

Can you give me a good description of the ledges? I am really thinking about getting these. And I am looking for a good description from a rider of these skis. Thanks

my sister has the ledge. super soft and if you weigh more than 130 pounds its not an ideal ski for you. i would bump up to step for sure.

If you are looking at the wall, the ledge is not a comparable ski

the wall is a full camber ski, whereas the step and ledge have tip/tail rocker. the wall is 87mm underfoot, step/ledge are 85mm

the wall is stiffer, but how much i do not know. the ledge is def the softest of the three. the step is stiffer but not a stiff ski..

they all have poplar and ash cores, but the ratios may be different. the step and the wall also have a sintered base, but the ledge is probably just an extruded plastic

So how is the durability between the three compared? Also how thick are volkls edges?

the step is the same construction as the ledge but with carbon stringers so is still playful but rebounds nicer and is more responsive than the ledge. i cant comment on the wall.
i've had a pair of steps since they created it and theyre still going, theyre pretty battered now with some edge cracks, a fixed delam underfoot and a ding in the nose after crashing into a wall (story for another time). I had zero problems with them for the first season and it was only when i hurt my knee and moved away from kickers and more toward rails i got any edge cracks or delam. i found the sidewalls to be pretty soft and i gouged them with my edges a fair amount. the sidewalls have a fillet to the top so it controls topsheet chipping pretty well.

I'd add that the the plastic on the sidewalls for all three skis is more than likely the same material, they are soft so it can be planed back for edge tuning.

I had the kinks and now ride J's but idk how u think the kinks are "playful" they are stiff as boots that aren't full tilts
